I agree.
"Yea though I walk through the Valley of the Shadow of Death, I shall fear no evil, for thou art with me...."
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me for the rest of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
I don't care how rotten I am or how I feel, this is a prayer I say in the morning when I wake up and when I go to sleep.
Psalm 23.
Don't blaspheme boys. Please.
Here today, gone tomorrow. We are not citizens of this world, which is why there is so much turmoil and unrest.
Our lives mean something, regardless of what you might think, or be persuaded to think.
I absolutely agree!
Though the non-believers will sneer at me for saying this, I have a recent story to tell.
My dad has been a heavy drinker all his life. Got sober, went back to the bottle, battled for years.
Not long ago, my buddy who brought me back to faith laughed at me when I said I did not believe prayer could cure my dad's alcoholism. I really did not think it would help.
He had his hip replaced, and had a rough time recovering, but he went something like 12 weeks totally dry. Then, very recently they found an infection in his hip, had to take the hip out and replace the head, he is now on vanco etc etc. Bottom line- he hasn't had a drink in 14 weeks, and in all honesty I do not think he will ever go back to it. In the last 4 weeks, I have drank maybe 3 times, and have never felt stronger.
Our family has a chemistry to it that is WORKING, and we have never had that. Never! I have the strongest feeling this depressed drinking that we both did for years has passed, and though it did not happen in a way that I would have liked, it happened! Hate to rush and say either of us is "cured", but I asked and have received. Sobriety has been the greatest gift ever given to me or my family, and I am indebted to God for making it happen. He did things His way, and here we are a happy and fully functioning family.
If you doubt the power of God, you owe it to yourself to find out first hand. Get on your knees and pray, give thanks, and see what happens. You have nothing to lose, except foolish pride.
