Nope, don't agree. That smirk is because he knows he just tore someone a new asshole. He smiles because he knows he said something no one else in the mainstream press is saying.
cenk repeat viewership is obviously almost 0, as he has 1000+ youtube videos and rarely does one go over 1000 views.
You'd think after years and years of posting youtube videos hed slowly grow his fan base and by now have at least 100k views per video.
But thats not the case, reason is the same reason CNN ratings are in the toilet and fox news isnt. Its because sane people in these days hate politically correct liars.
Firstly, your numbers are wrong. Just about every Young Turks vid has at least a couple thousand views. The ones on topics that are really popular often have tens of thousands of views.
Secondly, the fact of the matter is, most people don't go onto youtube for vids about politics. They are looking for something funny, or music videos, or celebrity gossip, etc.
Thirdly, Cenk is ANYTHING but politically correct. lol He bashes Obama and the dems from time to time, and he uses profanity all the time. He talks about things like porn, masturbation habits, etc.
See I am not a republican nor a democrat, I dont even know the difference. But what I could spot is a guy that says things not because he believes in them but rather what he feels will get people to like him.
Patently untrue, for the reasons I describe above. If you actually watched The Young Turks instead of making these pronunciations without even knowing what you're talking about, you'd know this. I think Cenk firmly believes what he says, even when it goes against the democratic party orthodoxy. Cenk sure as heck wouldn't be bashing Obama, basically for being soft, if he wanted all those who support the president to like him.
And thats where the miscalculation happens, people in these days have been exposed to so much hypocrisy that they rather see a guy say crazy stuff that he believes in than listen to a fool who just babbles politically correct bullshit.

So regardless if you agree with savage or not, he speaks what he truly feels even if it offends others. Thats why his ratings are amazing.
When you have a country now that so many have a hard time buying food, the last thing they need is another fancy politically correct speaker, EVEN Oprah Winfrey, the master and founder of "let me say what will get people emotional" is struggling with her ratings!

The reason Savage gets great ratings is because the majority of AM political/social commentary talk radio listeners are bitter, middle aged white men who typically vote republican.
