Almost had my car stolen today I think

I was driving home tonight from my parents’ home around midnight. I exited I94 and was stopped at a traffic light. There were about 4-5 cars. A light sandstone Chrysler 300 was behind me in the right lane. The car was very clean, waxed and well taken care of w/ tinted windows. So was mine. The 300 slowly edged forward and then nudged the rear right wheel well of my car just as the light turned green. My car shook and I took off. I was now furious and pointed to the offending car driving behind me to pull over. At first I thought it was an old man but could not see clearly in the dark. The person looked small. We pulled into a parking lot and I thought I’d better check this out before I get out of the car. When they pulled up next to me it was 4 young blacks and they had sunglasses on (at midnight). I took off quickly and they turned around.

I went to the police station and they told me I did the right thing and could have been killed. Got home and the scuff on the wheel well buffed out nicely with rubbing compound. So they knew exactly how to barely nick the car and cause minimal if any damage. By the amount the car shook I surely thought it was more severe. I also think the other passengers were hiding at first because I thought it was a single driver. They probably wanted to steal the car from me and who knows I could have been shot and killed in the process. I’m happy the car is undamaged! Usually I would go ballistic if someone did this to my car but am glad I thought it out first instead of trying to confront the other driver.

A few weeks ago, some redneck was complaining to me that his girlfriend had bumped his car intentionally. He asked me had I ever gone down the road and seen somebody that I know and lightly bumped their car/truck. I said no. He said, sometimes he does it as a joke, but this time, his girl went too far, as he bought his truck for 800 dollars...his rear bumper is damaged...

In Baltimore, I had a ex-marine friend who was driving at night, and he was at a stop light, and a dude with his girl were in a Lexus, dude bumped the guy that was behind my friend, and at the next stop light, bumped my friend's car...he got out, and the dude was drunk, saying that he just wanted some fun...

They bumped my car at a traffic light by slowly edging forward. Their car was in perfect condition. How many times have you been bumped at a traffic light when all cars are stopped and lots of room for everyone? This is the first time for me.
