Why do they keep the gold/black metallic paper stricker on New Era caps?

I see a lot of guys ( even Jay) keep the round tag on New Era caps after they buy 'em.
It is displayed on the bill of the camp and to me seems silly.
I have a New Era baseball cap and refused to keep the tag on it.
To me , that is like keeping the price tag on something.

I'm clueless why so many seem to think it ideal or fashionable to proudly wear the tag? wtf?

I honestly think it is show easy to see "proof" they have a genuine name brand cap on, kinda like a designer label thing maybe.
To me is is really tacky .

Pretty sure it's a black thing that (for reasons unknown) took off and got popular. Makes the hat look stupid and practically useless, plus most just throw their hats away when they need to be washed. About as idiotic as you can get, but that is America for you, I guess...

I always see the ATL ones at Hibbet Sports.  :D It makes me laugh so bad when i see them and the Tap Out ones are great.  :D

no shit, all my hats are new era, and i only buy them when i see buy one get one free, which usually ends up costing under $25 anyways.

I'd also like to add that I've had many NPC competitors pose for me wearing nothing but their New Era Caps with the sticker on the rim, while Flo-Rida's Low was playing in the background...

I see a lot of white and hispanic guys wearing 'em with the sticker, even Jay Cutler did  in a video?
The thing is , every New Era cap has a small label tab that shows the brand, washing cautions  and size INSIDE  the cap.

Reminds me of when ol' Minnie Pearl of Grand Old Opery fame wore the price tag hanging off her hat.
It was a joke-goof on the idea that a hillbilly would want to "show off" that is was a "store bought" hat.


Her price tag thing was part of her act and a complete goof.
It amazes me that anyone would feel the need to show obvious visual proof that they had a real hat on. wtf>
That is pretty sad and pathetic when you think about it.

It gives the impression that it is fresher Aka just bought even though it isn't , I do the same with all my new era hats (6)
