Punk was pure gold lastnight to end RAW. Definately a worked shoot tho. Mentioning names like Lesnar, Heyman, New Japan and Ring of Honor...and his shout-out to his good buddy Colt Cabana was what made some think it may have been a real shoot. Then calling out Cena, Hogan, DeWayne & Laurinaitis for being ass kissers, just fed into the "shoot" aspect even more. Not to mention ripping on the whole McMahon family & in-laws intelligence. Haha!

I agree with JNN. Unfortunately this wont be the return a "attitude area" or "TV-14" or whatever it may be called. TV-PG is gonna be around for a while. But it can be good TV, if its like lastnite. There are ways to be good on TV-PG. WWE just rarely tries anything close to "on the edge". CM Punk did just that lastnite.

I've already watched it over a few times...and it puts a bigger smile on my face each time. At this point- I think CM Punk already has his new contract with WWE & this is all storyline. Still- best promo i've seen in quite a few years!

the answer is two fold
1) IT WAS PART OF THE WORK!!!!
2) Punk using a mic doesn't work is a very old bit that he has used since his IWA-MS days
