But it wasn't sexual abuse, it was emotional and psychological abuse, from family, and from classmates throughout childhood. Also, she is not an americana girl, she is a polka (polish girl). Does this make a difference? Again, no sexual abuse happened to her, but she did go through severe emotional and psychological abuse.
If you find someone who had and ideal childhood, let me know. Everyone I know thinks that there were issues with their childhood experiences. While I am not saying that emotional and psychological abuse isn't real, how bad it was is a matter of perspective. People need to grow up. One can spend their whole life fucked up because they choose to dwell on childhood issues or they can accept that life isn't perfect, take control over their happiness and move forward. It is always about choice. One can choose to be happy or choose to be miserable.
My mom liked to make herself feel more important by making everyone around her feel small. She's dead now. I got over it. Well actually, I battled with her over this issue and others when I was a kid, never giving in. As soon as I could, I got out of that crazy house and away from her destructive ways. When she died, I felt a loss and I felt relieved....
