Hi, I'm sorry to bother you, but could you please tell me what's my bf%, no need for a new thread, you can just answer in this thread.

I'm clean on that pic, but I think I'm holding a lot of water (of course some fat too), right?

Thanks god

i cant find the tread,, ill answer here

this is low doubles 11- 12% ,,,the reason its not less is because again you lack density and thickness and most importantly when you oare in the the singles...you will be able to see the outterlines of the abs coming in to the median ...not fully clear at the median but outter will be quite clear...the conection to the seratus will be tight and visible and the obliqes and sides will be hard and tight,, this is when you are in the singles

when you are in the mid singles 6-8  and you flex from the side or half way turn ...you will see what i describe as t-rax face on both sides of the midsection,,the insertions,,abs ,, seratus and the piano keys all will be there nicely when flexing ...maybe with some water on it but it will be there!

drieing is an art ... its not easy to dry out and not lose important water from within the muscle i will talk about it in diff thread later on

The more I read GH15's posts and threads, there more I realize he actually knows what he's talking about - no question. I am nodding my head everytime I read his "gospel"because its accurate as hell.

I would LOVE to hear GH15's strategy for final week manipulation, regarding diuretics, minerals, quinine, insulin etc....in the final days. Potassium sparing diuretics VS loop and double loops diuretics etc....

Me too............my contest is 20 days away.

Lets hear the different final days approaches which differ according to substances being administered I am assuming.

Water consumption stays same, increased, or tapered final week. Is aldactone used at beginning of week to suppress adolsterone? OR is it left out due to anti-androgenic effect and perhaps only fast acting thiazides or loops are used 1-2 days prior?

Lasix, demadex, dyazide etc....is sodium re-introduced? Is ingesting junk food a secret used by pros once dry or a poor excuse for eating shit foods or is it just a way for a trainer/guru to find a niche and get clients.... knowing once dry you CANNOT fuck up so having clients eat junk makes him  in higher demand.....Pls fill us in!

i always wondered why pros look their best a week out from shows. idiot "gurus" think they can make significant changes ot a physique with 24 hours of chemical bombardment and zero knowledge of the physiological processes they are trying to mess with. water retention is very tightly regulated and diuretics, potassium/sodium manipulation, carb loading, plasma expanders... all this shit usually ends up either a) making the person flat without producing much of any subq water loss or b) makes the person hold even more water

I am sure GH15 will have his 2 cents on this matter. Yes get shredded a week out etc....BUT I am sure he has done, or known other pros that got EVEN better from the manipulation tactics.

Yes for an extra 5% more crispness you run the risk of blowing a prep, but Bodybuilding mentality is always of obsessive compulsive behavior.

GH15- we anxiously await some insight...~

"diuretics, potassium/sodium manipulation, carb loading, plasma expanders... all this shit usually ends up either a) making the person flat without producing much of any subq water loss or b) makes the person hold even more water"  ...Truth, people don't seem to understand that even if you do everything right you might only look 5% better, but if you fuck up just slightly and load to much or take just a little to much of one substance you'll end up looking like shit. Be ready two to three weeks out and don't do anything drastic the last couple of days. It's not that hard.

I usually just drink a shitload of water all throughout my prep,at a week to a week and a half out,I try to double my water intake, this makes you piss constantly and almost uncontrolably, the night before the contest between 7-9 PM,I stop drinking entirely.

This leaves you pissing like the proverbial racehorse just as you have been doing, but you aren`t replacing the H2O,so you get dryer and dryer but lose sleep in a huge way.
when you flood the system like this and piss, you piss more than you take in so stopping the H2O intake makes you dry as hel the next morning........if all goes right.

I stop sodium at 3 days out,on the day of the show I eat just a bit of carbs at 2-3 hour intervals depending on my condition and just sip on bits of water,I also sip and spit water out at times just to wet my mouth.

No shitloading or tons of carbs for me as I do not tolerate high carbs............a bit more carb sensitive as I got older.

Good post!!

If you`re shrinkwrapped and in great shape there is less to do,if you`re out of condition,no matter what "tricks" you try you are fucked.

Last minute shit usually fucks up tons of people hard work that they did for the last 16-20 weeks.

Stop fucking with your sodium. Try it next show. Your body is very good at re-absorbing sodium if it needs to, so dropping sodium will not do what you want it to do. It will bloat you badly. Manipulate water levels with carbs and water. Just my advice.

I have done it without the drop, and looked pretty good............ for me anyway.  ;)

I know you need some sodium and some water in your system for nutrient transport to the muscles.

I`ll try not dropping it this time also.......thanks Mike.

On a sidenote,I`m about as cut as I have ever been but bigger, rounder, and more vascular....of course I`m not a big guy anyway, but just ate some rice and I look crazy!!

Also, eating a ton of salt right now and have been all through my prep.

My goal was to look as good or better at 56 as I did at 40 when I won my class at the Southern States and I think I have surpassed this.

I`m getting pumped for this contest to finally get here.

Good shit dude! And good luck!!!!!

It's funny that you mention your goal is to look better than when you were younger. A buddy of mine who competes has been doing the same for years. He is, 38 I want to say, and has pictures on his fridge of his physique every year going back to 30 or so. He has managed to look a bit better every single year. It's very motivating, especially considering all of his injuries.

Bodybuilding, like I said, has it's best years ahead of it, not behind it. There is SO MUCH good in the sport, so much that can benefit so many people that I truly have faith it will make a huge comeback. Just waiting for that champion to elevate it, like Arnold way back when...It will happen...

Anyway, good luck at your show(s)!!!!!

Thanks Mike,I`ll definately need all the luck I can get at this contest.

I have two pics of me onstage at 40 right in front of me on my desk as I type this.

I live on the boards lately (always actually) :)  so I can always see them and it helps to keep me on point.
