n the last hand before the break, Jennifer Cowan raised to 35,000 from under the gun and received a call from Katherine Stahl in the small blind. Carol Tomlinson was in the big blind and said, “How can I fold here, I’m gonna flop the nuts!” before she called as well.

The flop came down  and it was checked over to Cowan who bet 70,000. Stahl folded but Tomlinson check-raised and Cowan moved all in. Tomlinson made the call and the players turned over their hands.

Amazingly, Tomlinson had flopped the nuts just as she had predicted and was in great shape to knockout Cowan who would need runner-runner to survive. The turn was the  and was as good as it could get for Cowan who made a set and would just need the board to pair to stay alive and win the hand. Unfortunately for her, it came the  and Cowan was eliminated while Tomlinson continued to build on her lead.

Jennifer Cowan Eliminated in 7th Place ($22,750)

Why do they split up men and womans poker tournament? Its not like they are playing a physical sport where muscularity and strength matters. By splitting them up, are they implying that men are smarter than woman, and therefore would automatically beat them in a game of poker? :-X :-X

True. However, its quite obvious why they split up the physical sports because men are overall more muscular and stronger than woman. And considering this is a male dominated society, I would not be surprised if they split up the men and woman's  poker tournaments because they believed that a woman couldn't 'hang' with a man.

So, what would happen if she got ANGRY and smashed the table? I mean, she could easily squat the guys around the table for fun.  ;D I think i need to be at that Poker table if that happens.  :D

They did not split mens/womens poker, they offered a female only tournament because women are POORLY represented in poker. I mean, something like 3% of the players in the Main Event each year are women...This was something to attract female poker players...Also the rules are not firm on women only playing as evidenced by the many men wearing wigs playing them...

vince, haven't you made under 20,000 a year for many years?

also, it says something about the bbing industry when winning money in a poker tournament is the more ethical / accepted means than her "primary" job.
