I've had the same species of spiders on my hands many times, one of them "teleported" up my arms and on my shoulders I nearly crapped myself.
These type of spiders also called goliath birdeater tarantula can get extremly big, especially the females I never liked them since they have a bold patch on the back (like many scitish spiders) which looks ugly on that particular spider due to the light hairs, also they have a tendency to get scared real easy and if you dont know how to handle them can tag you (either with their huge fangs or the hair) real fast.
Goliath are also notoriously bad in molting - especially when they get older and many never reach that size.
I've been bitten by two types of tarantulas on two occasions and these are big as well but never as big as the goliath and I can tell you it hurts like a guy.
If we talk Tarantulas the once from Pakistan and India are the once that can get dangerous, no spider is agressive but they are extremly defensive, and Pokis as the Indian and Paki spiders are called are some of the fastest spiders in the world and also pack quite a punch in regards to their venom you cannot die from it unless you are allergic but I have seen guys bitten by Pokies walk around with a swollen face or hand.
Atm I have 1 Spider left from a total of 22 at the beginning when I meet my wife, the one I have left is a Brazilian black - extremly docile and beautiful looks like a big black teddy bear
