Every Klansman I've met has been impressed with me. 
I don't know about the BP of today, but I'm sure you're downplaying the significance of the BP of yesteryear as far as their violence and intimidation goes. I agree they cannot be compared to the Klan, because the Klan believed in what they were doing and was based on religion, and we all know religious whackos are the most extreme.

Naw, not downplaying, as they were mostly city youth who were talking abot taking up guns...basically they wanted to be major players. Did they intimidate, etc? Yeah, but back then it was more about "the muscle" and the image, and talking about "The Revolution". Kinda like the lil kid in class hiring the big dude in class to watch his back...and yes, they were into militancy, the main goal of Stokely wasn't intimidation, but being militant, as he saw that SNCC, NAACP, and even the NOI were not achieving certan goals quickly enough, nor addressing violence with violence, basically, "this non-violence is bullcrap, motherfvcker! I am no chump, these mofos come around here, I got a double barrel for them."
remember, the "intimidating black man" image got started in the late 60s early 70s, before then they were "good colored folks who don't cause any trouble". Look at old the vids from the 50s, particularly after the Emmitt Till verdict. They interviewed black males, and they are shy, bashful, and stammering, like they were scare to voice their opinion.
Now, onto the Klansman. A funny story, I had visited a great aunt, and sitting in the kitchen was this old man that I had never seen before. He had the classic Klansman look (and similar to The Colonel---KFC):horned rim glasses, white hair, deep south accent, and general overall attitude---come to find out, he was a good friend of my late grandfather...they used to work at a hog slaughterhouse, and he proceeded to tell me stories of hearing the hogs scream as you kill em, or if you scald them...cool dude.
JBGray, we know that the Dem party and Repub party switched up---which is why they are really the same, it's a shell game played on the Am. People...
As mofos fight about Dems/Repubs, conservative/lib, the Corporations are robbing the people blind and making the policies, which one of the reasons why the illegal situation hasn't been resolved...too much money being made.
