is it?

I'm not familiar with the states where liberal democrats passed laws to tell people not to buy a plasma tv, or laws not to eat salt or saturated fats.

Can you give some actual examples?

BUMP for Straw Man to see actual examples on previews page!

CA banned transfat in restaurants and was supported by both parties and signed into law by a Republican Governor

you can still eat all the transfat you want without restriction so I don't see how this supports your claim liberals want to pass laws to tell people how to live their life.   You can eat all the transfat, saturarated fat, McDonalds, etc.... while sitting in front of your plasma TV.

BTW - tell me what law in general is not aimed at telling someoone how to live their life to some extent.   We have laws that say how fast you can drive, require you to wear a seatbelt, helmet, etc.... The list in endless

Here's a classic example of how Christian Republican are trying to tell people (many of whom do not  even share their religious beliefs) how to live their life.

South Dakota passed a law that woman must attend counseling prior to having an abortion.   And of course it's not just generic or unbiased counseling.   It's counseling to "to educate, counsel and otherwise assist women (to keep) their relationship with their unborn children."

People in CA can eat all the trans fat they want but if you choose to have an abortion in the state of South Dakota you're required by law to see a counselor and most likely one with a christian agenda who might well wind up harassing the woman regarding what should be a private health matter between her and her doctor

note: for some reason the copy and past function is this site has stopped workign but I got that quote from CNSnews.com

Are you joking or just playing dumb?
Why didn't you include my post from the first page (where you found the other quote) where I said I didn't include criminal activity in minding your own business

TRUE criminal activity takes away the liberties and rights of other people, so of course those do not count.

This is where I don't see how these lawmakers get it... There's things that impact others directly, and then there's all the bull shit laws. (of which there are more than real crimes)

Where is the criminal activity in a restaurant owner serving foods seasoned with salt?  Where is the criminal activity in an American citizen going out to eat at a restaurant to enjoy a meal seasoned with salt?  Where is the criminal activity in a store owner selling plasma TVs?  Where's the criminal activity in a California citizen buying a plasma TV at his local store?

In straw mans defense he does define terms differently than the rest of the world...

according to him its only "hypocritical" if youre not ok with them making light of you doing what your making light of them doing....

so you really have to ask him to explain himself in instances such as this ;)

you've still provided zero evidence of actual "laws to tell people not to buy plasma TVs, laws not to eat salt, laws not to eat saturated fats, laws not to eat at McDonald's etc.?
"
and of course no proof that "liberals" are doing this.

CA banned transfats in restaurants with bi-partisan support and signed by a Republican governor because they deemed it a public health hazard, much like smoking which is also banned in restaurants.  Even though it is banned in a specific place there is nothing stopping you from obtaining all the transfats you might desire just like there is nothing stopping you from smoking yourself to death.

On the contrayr, I gave you a real law, enacted by Republicans that is truly intended to tell people how to live their lives and is incredibly intrusive on what should be a private matter between a woman and her doctor.

as of yet, you have no response

btw  - what does any of this have to do with a old man in frock who is worried about polygamy?
