Javier Bardem And Ralph Fiennes Also Reportedly Signed Up For Bond 23!
Following the news that Naomie Harris is in final negotiations to play Miss Moneypenny, it has now been revealed that she'll also star alongside Javier Bardem And Ralph Fiennes in the next Bond movie...
As was reported earlier today, Naomie Harris is set to star as Miss Moneypenny in the next (and currently untitled) James Bond movie. Well, IGN Movies have brought attention to another part of that same report from The Daily Mail which mentions the addition of two other cast members.

While both actors have been very loosely linked to the movie in the past, the site mentions that, "The actress is poised to appear alongside Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes and Judi Dench when filming begins later this year." While this is far from confirmation, I would say this is a fairly strong indication (especially as the source is a reliable one) that they have indeed joined the cast of Bond 23, set to film later this year.

Of course, it's also worth noting that they point out the fact a spokeswoman for Eon confirmed earlier today that Harris has met with producers, but not yet signed on. Whether the same can be said for Bardem and Fiennes remains to be seen.

Directed by Sam Mendes, Bond 23 is set to be released on November 9th, 2012!

Have to be honest, didnt think Craig was going to pull it off but I definitely like him....nice to see a different change in the bond character......

They need to get Sean Connery involved in some sort of "handing the baton off" type of thing

Can't wait for this. Bardem plays an awesome villain and Craig is awesome Bond. He's the only reason Quantum of Solace is remotely watchable.

I don't like Craig as Bond.  He has no personality.  No sense of humor.  He's just a killing machine.  Not nearly up to Connery or Brosnan standards.

But I have a lot of time invested in the Bond series, so I'll be watching it whenever it comes out.   Smiley

That was exactly the effect the producers were going for with Craig's Bond, they wanted him to be much more cut throat, much more ruthless.  No more cheezy one liners, no more silly gadgets (though I miss those), just intense bad assness!  and I like it!
Think of him as James Bond for the 21st century!

Like you I'm very big on the 007 series, so I will definitely be watching the new one.

Well if that's what they wanted, they got it.   Undecided  This Bond is also sort of a wuse when it comes to women.  James Bond should never fall in love with a woman, and then go a killing spree to avenge her death.

When is the new one coming out?

Well that was his first assignment as 007 (and supposed to take place before all the other movies - a prequel almost) so it sets the primise of him being a womanizer and never wanting to get attached (because he was hurt once by Vespa).

If you notice there have been a bunch of the Bond movies that refer to him as being in love once, or even married...

License to Kill with Timothy Dalton, Bond catches the garter of Felix's new Bride right after the wedding, but throws it back and the bride is all confused Felix explains "He was married once"

Watch the Bond film On Her Majesty's Secret Service. George Lazenby is Bond. That is the film where Bond gets married to a girl named Theresa.

I won't tell you the ending, but you can probably figure it out.

Has Rhys Ifans Been Cast In Bond 23?
Reports are coming in that The Amazing Spider-Man actor has joined the already impressive cast of Sam Mendes' currently untitled James Bond 23..
According to he usually-reliable columnist 'Mandrake' in today's edition of The UK Telegraph, Rhys Ifans has joined the cast of Sam Mendes' James Bond flick..

He(Mendes) is clearly taking his mission seriously, as Mandrake hears that he has cast Rhys Ifans, who once enjoyed a passionate cinematic kiss with Craig.

“Ifans will appear in the film, as well as Javier Bardem, who will play the baddie,” says my man with the golden gun. “Much of the filming will take place in South Africa.”

Take it as a rumor until we have confirmation, but this would seem to be legit. As the original article references, Ifans and Craig have acted together before in a strange little movie called Enduring Love. It's worth a watch, and the two certainly have some screen chemistry so seeing em together in a Bond movie could be an awesome prospect.

We will of course see Ifans as Dr Curt Connors/The Lizard in Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man early next year. Bond 23 has a release date of October 26th, 2012.

It's not the Bond of the 21st century, it's the Bond from the book, the way Fleming thought of Bond.

Craig is the best Bond, the only thing you could say is not true to the book is the hair color. I absolutely loved Casino Royale, fuck all these silly Gadgets and stupid jokes, Pierce Brosnan was making a total mess of the series, i also hate the Roger Moore Bond movies.

In the Bond novels, the "gadgets" were always something very hightech for the times, but nothing total science fiction like the stuff from the Brosnan movies.

Wait, what.... I thought Daniel Craigs looks were the most accurate representation from the books, blondish hair and green eyes?  its been a while since I've read them but I always thought he was the true Bond from the books like you said.

Only good Bronson bond was Goldeneye, the other ones were total shit.

I wish they had made more Bond movies with Timothy Dalton, he was very cut throat like Daniel Craig, much preferred him over Roger Moore.

By the way, I saw Roger Moores car in London once, Rolls Royce, license plate said 007 -fucking bad ass

And to show how much of a fan I am:

The real one

And two replicas:

All I need now is the Aston Martin and I'm set LOL   Cool

The Bond in the books has black hair, other than that i totally agree with your post. I have read the original Fleming novels again and again, totally love to read the books far more then the movies, although i still like Sean Connery and Timothy Dalton. Like i said, for me Craig is the best Bond.
Goldeneye was great too, Brosnan should have stayed like this instead of making Bond more and more one-dimensional.

Quote
Likewise, in Moonraker, Special Branch Officer Gala Brand thinks that Bond is "certainly good-looking . . . Rather like Hoagy Carmichael in a way. That black hair falling down over the right eyebrow. Much the same bones. But there was something a bit cruel in the mouth, and the eyes were cold."[16]

Craig has done the role justice.  For too many years, Bond films became characterized by cartoonish violence and film critics savaged them.  Audiences were turned off too; box office receipts fell way off, so much so, that the studio was talking seriously of either canceling Bond or radically remaking the spy by casting him as a woman.  Think Jane Bond being played by someone like Sharon Stone.  Yikes!

With the selection of Craig, producers and writers made a very conscious choice to move away from the cartoon approach and pen scripts that were more grounded in physical reality.  It worked!  The recent Bond films have reenergized the franchise and been among the most profitable!  Craig gets part of the credit for that.

The first movie I ever saw in the theatre was a James Bond film.  Cool

If you don't already own it, get a hold of this CD.
