imagine if every inmate have to peddle a stationary bike 4 hours a day hooked up to the electric grid, the amount of electricity produced.

2,292,133 inmates. 24 / 4 = 6    2,292,133 / 6 = 382,022 bikes constantly producing lets say 100 wats ( anyone should handle that rate for 4 hours) per hour 24/7.

we produce 382,022 * 100 = 38,202,200 watts per hour! average home use about 1,020 watts per hour

we can cover 38,202,200 / 1,020 = 37,453 homes at any given time with this system in place.

  • Only be sure always to call it please, 'research'
Currently the only way to produce the energy in a dense enough form to matter on a large industrial scale without burning anything is with nuclear fission.
Now I know that someone will shortly post..."what about solar and wind?"...
Well again, the operative term here is energy density,...wind and solar are too disperse to be significant on an industrial scale.

Absolutely we should use inmates for forced labor, would give those losers less time to plan more crimes and actually do something productive.
