There's like one guy in this thread who needs all those horses under his keyboard.  The rest could get their computing done with a $500 Walmart Acer Special.  So, what's the point of a $2500 laptop for a video game and Quicken Deluxe?

not going to happen. steve hates the blu ray :-\
but don,t buy your movies twice.
on a windows box, use anydvd+handbrake. now, you can convert your blu-rays to play on any device/mac. ;)

I never understood why, but i asked a "Genius" at the Apple store and they said that my warranty would be void if i had anything Blu-Ray done to my Mac.  >:( My P.C. is doing just fine which really shocks me.

You will hardly ever get a virus if you are careful, even using no anti virus software, you have to be a tech dummy to get one.  Mac's just simply exploit dumb computer un savy people with their no virus bullshit.

These Apple guys are full of shit.  17" laptop for 2700$ because they are safe from viruses.  Ops, I have a 17" Dell Studio for 700$, and haven't had a virus in 18 mths, just use Chrome and Ad-ware Live, which blocks everything that tries to upload.  I know I'm too poor for an Apple.  

The only thing I ever used an Apple for was General Physics Lab.

They use proprietary engines... Cheaper than paying the licenses for an engine really.

It's about cost.

It is a physics based engine though I do believe. It's just not a commercially available one.

I don't work inherently with the sports franchises though, outside of the build pipeline.

I was just playing Crysis 2 like 10 mins ago  ;D

Yep... That's the Tiburon facility... Where the Maddens get made actually.

I am part of technology delivery... I do game pipeline. Build process. Tech delivery. Both related to game development and overall IT.

Some yes, some no. I feel we do too much regurgitation of games... sequels and what not instead of developing new cool games.

But overall, I think we do a decent job... We could just do a little bit better.

My mistake Ryse is not by EA - I assumed beccause it was under the Crytek umbrella EA was involved too, but thats not the case!

I think our RTS franchise was excellent, Red Alert 3 was great.

I think Battlefield 3 will be excellent... The betas that I've played are awesome. Crysis was way ahead of it's time... The Crytek engine was too powerful for even the best hardware when it was released.

Of course the Maddens, NHLs, and FIFAs sell the best.

I do really like the character animations on FIFA and NHL as well... very fluid and extremely life like.

Mass Effect 2 was also fantastic.
