Tampa Bay vs San Diego

I'm torn between the two with a slight lean to Diego.

Tampa - Less money, more affordable, but deep south  :-X

Diego - Expensive, more money, expensive, Newmom's kind of town

For those who have spent extended time in both, what would you do?

You could live the rest of your life in San Diego, Tampa is not as good.  Cheaper, but you get what you pay for.

There`s no contest. San diego all the way.  Best city in the world. Make sure you get a place beach front or near. Its worth the extra $.

While it is true San Diego is a much more desireable place to live,...it is expensive,...I mean expensive...

Cost of living comparison website said it is 43 percent more expensive to live in San Diego than Tampa.

Tampa as "deep south?"   Uhhhh, the ONLY part of Florida that even resembles the US south is the panhandle.  The rest of it is Northern Cuba.....so you would fit right in, Hector.  ;D

Both places have their plus points and minuses. Having lived in west palm beach FL and La jolla,Del mar,Cardiff by the sea,solano beach SD. I would have to side with SD all the way. For example where else can you start the day watching the sun rise while surfing with friends. By noon your in wrightwood or mnt high or bigbear or lake arrowhead snowboarding and having lunch and by sunset your out in the mohave desert tearing it up on your bike,quad,atc and BBQ`n with the family all in the same day. gotta love So Cal  8)
