and i must say, i'm quite excited about it

piranha 3d - an awesome throwback to those fantastic 80s horror movies, with an over abundance of everything you looked for when picking a video in the good old days of the video library and 'mom and pops video store'. ie, blood, gore tits, tits, tits

i see on those bluray forums that some idiots buy every movie on blu, good or bad

i can't afford that shit, nor would i want too anyhow..

i want films that i like and have a lot of re-watch value. hence the above! or are thorough favourites of mine that i want in my collection.

so my blu collection now stands at 1

what about the rest of you guys???

Got ironman 2 free with my ps3 and my sister got me the dark knight last Christmas

I have a huge collection of Blu Ray movies....

But I mean.... thats your first blu ray? lol Look at the Dark Knight! Sin City! Ironman! Tron! etc :-)

Some of the best looking movies on Blu Ray that I have are those listed above, as well as the Spiderman Trilogy, 300, The Notebook (yeah yeah yeah), Transformers, Predator, Just to name a few!

Dark Knight was my first blu ray I bought. Best one I have for blu ray. But I only have 5.

Another really good one is Black Hawk Down - Both Video and Audio is INCREDIBLE in that, plus a great story!

Also the new Star Trek!

what's wrong with it

it's great fun. and as i've said, i'll only buy films with plenty of re-watch value and films i want in my collection..

not that i don't want the batman movies eventually.. just wait 'til they're cheaper thats all..

mind you!! i'll be ordering this next.. and at a whopping 18 fucking quid

i want the cool steel though so worth it

Bluray high definition is very good,...It's like the difference between am and fm radio...Are you using a HDMI cable to connect to the tv?...If you want to have a lot of distance between the player and the tv, you can use a HDMI "extender" to link the two...There are issues with having a very long HDMI cable,...It's better to make use of an extender.

Hey man to each their own - I'll be honest I haven't watched that Piranna 3D movie, so I'm not one to talk! But there are a ton of movies out there that feel like they were made for Blu Ray!

I also have Avatar that looks great!

I too will be getting Fast Five on Blu Ray when it comes out, just saw it recently, and it was the best Fast and Furious out there, I was never a crazy faun of the series, but that last one was definitely lots of fun!

funny thing is...! just as i'm catching up tech wise.. now its fucking 3d telly's and players coming out, lol

and get this! a charity shop in town had all its vhs videos outside in a box with a sign saying 'free'.. god i was tempted

they've now got a sign on the door say 'we no longer accept videos'

Hold off on the 3D TV's - in a year or two the Glasses-Free models will be coming out. Toshiba has already presented their prototypes at the last CES and they got fairly positive feedback!

it's great.. a proper film to watch with the lads.. (or in my case my ol lady $:-\$ ) with a few beers and pizzas..

i know, but alas, we have no room for those big bastard videos.. i gave hundreds away a couple of years ago.

plus, i don't mind downloading vhs rips.. once, i even tried to adjust the tracking on a film burnt to disc

One of the best movies on Bluray is 2001: A space odyssey, and thats from 1968, its visually stunning.

I have that as well as Casablanca on bluray!

Piranha 3d was atrocious. If you wanna see Piranha, buy the original version which is also on Blu-Ray.

I have not seen that cover in this country, but i am looking to order it from the U.K.

why avatar? its crap. i must admit that i regret not seeing it on the big screen in 3d just for the awesome effects.. the film itself though is not worth adding to any collection.. imo

It's good to watch the special effects special parts... Aside from that, it's junk.
