I was thinking the same---but it seems to happen when shifting---it has a dual clutch tranny, so it could be the tranny blipping the throttle on shifts, Plus the fact that the car has a subdued engine note due to the TT V8, and it was stated that it would sound like a racing 4 cylinder.

Sounds like torque management, the pcm cuts power during a shift to save the trans and it can often sound like that.

Really shitty, though professionally shot video.  I have a feeling that the V10 M5 will end up being more impressive than this.  There's something abouta  NA V10 that a turbo might not replicate.  I'm curious to see comparisons by the motoring press.

I would say this applies to BMW as well.  Most of their cars are plain boring to me.
