Worked as a bouncer for nine years. Been stabbed, bottled, glassed, stuck with needles and beat a few times. Worked in a number of different countries too - and many years later was walking in London and heard a voice call out - 'hey mate - you the gentlemen bouncer' - turns out it was a guy I 'evicted' from a club three or four years before in Sydney. he came up, shook my hand, got to talking and said that that is what all him and his mates called me - 'the gentleman'. To be honest I think i lost my temper about twice in nine years - never went looking for trouble either. Not like some of the dumbasses i used to work with - they didn't last long though. Still, it was nice to be remembered as a nice guy rather than a thug.
