I tried to be clever one Halloween and decided to dress up like 'Peter Parker', the costume consisted of dressing up like Spiderman, then putting on some normal clothes over it!! LOL

It didn't turn out to be all that cool!

Some random girl saw me in the streets and screamed all excitedly "SPIDERMAN"...so I got pissed and yelled at her "NO! PETER PARKER!" She got upset and walked away, my buddies were cracking up!

Changing Spiderman's race has everything to do about color. If it did not he would have stayed white. Why are the PC crowd so obsessed with race and color. Seems to me they are the biggest racists of all.

Kraven the Hunter had a black wife/girlfriend/mistress/deranged voodoo queen, by the name of Calypso. And when batman was "broken" a black doctor nurse him back to health, and he had brief romance with her.

That's all fine, but you don't see Luke Cage becoming white do you? Why are these PC people so akward. Just come up with another character if they want a black superhere, don't steal a character. It's unoriginal and looks desperate.

Dont care about what color a superbook comic here is, but the tradition of Spiderman is that the story of Peter Parker and his way of growing up (being small and bullied) to being a shy superhero attracted millions of people to the story line.

Yes, the PC crowd is overwhelming in making things different, but use different characters to do that. A new member of the Justice League, or a protege of Spiderman. So many possibilities, but they try to force it down the simple way, which usually backfires.

Nothing is being forced down anyone's throats. Spiderman was suppose to originally suppose to be a black guy, the same as Captain America if you read the original books. However, because it was the 1930's and 40's, that was not realistic to cast them as being black.

Heck, regardless as to who got bit by the spider or injected with the ~~Dianabol~~ Super Soldier Serum, the ultimate premise of the characters are the same which is to fight against bad guys for freedom and justice.

What? No way. Your reference to the 30's and 40's is inaccurate by far. Amazing Fantasy 15 didn't come out until the real early 60's.
I've read and have most of the original Amazing Spiderman books and no where does it hint he was supposed to be black.

I was talking about Captain America, not Spiderman although in the 1960's was the height of the civil rights movement. There's multiple stories regarding the origin of Spiderman that were created as with other comic book characters.

Heck, most people don't know that in one instance, Cyclops from the X-Men became Captain America

I agree - I don't really care that he's black or hispanic... they could've replaced him with another white guy, and I'd be just as unhappy.... Spiderman is Peter Parker - plain and simple!

They should have built up more on the story of Spiderman 2099 - who's secret identity is Miguel O'Hara - Now that would've been fucking cool!
