Unfornately, sales rule...once they did the Clone Saga, and DC did the Bane/Batman and Death of Supes thing, all bets were off the table
Sure, i also see the point in that you start from the beginning to catch younger customers.
They did a good thing with the Star Trek reboot movie, for example. Which kid would be bothered to watch "Star Trek XXVIII" with 70 year old actors?
But in comic books, the changes are often too drastic, too often and worst of all, they will be undone too soon. I don't bother buying comics anymore anyways, i wait until a good storyline is finished and buy the softcover, for example Batman Hush or Ironman Extremis.
