Here's the interview with the new Conan and apparently they were "lifting 6 hours a day"  ::)
Any ideas what kind of training that would be?
Whats the deal with ppl lying? Some kid may actually believe him and go training 6 hours a day hoping to look like that and end up buying "No Explode" with no results.

Starting 0:52 he mentions the "6 hours a day"  :o ::)

It is probably a game they play.  The first guy who ever got asked "omg how'd you workout for this role you look great" was probably all "yeah I lifted for an hour a day three days a week" then the next guy was like "yeah two hours a day" etc.  I am waiting for someone to go all-in and say they lifted literally for 24 hours non stop.

Adds to the mystique and gives artificial value to something simple.

it can work if you know how to do it right and give yourself enough rest days. they key is to stay far away from failure and rest alot in between sets.

Sounds like a waste of time.

nah training that way actually works wonders, just takes a ton of time.  i did it for a couple months the spring before last and i got great results. not 6 hours a day, more like 2 and a half. you need a lot of time, a lot of motivation, and a lot of dedication. but it works.

It's probably the time the trainer/injector/food-slapper-away spends with the client - not, actual working-out time.

well to be fair he gets interrupted and follows up with "it's a lot of sword work" and "a little bit of everything" which could easily mean he counted his cardio as well. but your point is taken because it comes across as the recipe for his look.

Exactly. He mentions the 6 hours included additional sword and stunt work after the :50 mark.  If Schwarzenegger included his sword training, horse riding, stunts, etc... he could say he trained 6 hours a day for Conan as well. No actor is lifting weights for 6 hours a day while working on a movie.
