You Re quite right...but, foreign cars are what taught American car companies how to build decent cars...American cars were shitty for decades...if it wasn't for Toyota, Honda, and VW to an extent, American cars would still be shitty...we already don't get many foreig@n models due to our emissions and airbag/safety regs...you want hinder what we get...and with the emerging markets, Foreign car manufacturers will start saying, "it cost more to deal with the US and we can sell more in India and China",
you sir are less than.

For fucks sake with the cars already....youv'e been reading Car+Driver since you were 12...we get it  ::)

He's talking about putting tarrifs and shit on foreign cars and products from china, and most of those products are from American companies...do you see how ass backwards that is? It's not just the cars, it's the whole assbackwards thinking of taxing and tarrifs and all that other shit of goods, now at a time when emerging markets could potentially replace us, if it gets too high for corps to continuing paying to ship their goods here.

Don't just imagine the Honda Accord that you want or the Mercedes, imagine the Honda Bike or Lawn Mower or other goods, imagine the Yamaha keyboards, watches, clothing, all being high as a giraffe's ass.

Its OK Parker...I used to have subscriptions to R+T and C+D.... ;D

So I know one when I see one LOL.

then I got tired of their ridiculous critiques of every car that wasn't a Beemer or a Honda,  and they way they would carry on about a "slight chatter" in the handling at 10/10ths speed on a closed racetrack and how that "swayed" them to pick a car that costs 15,000 dollars more over an equally good one that wasn't European.  I mean...who gives a fuck in the real world. In the REAL world...15 grand is a lot of fucking money, and the most "racing"  you will ever do is for about 200 feet off the line at a stoplight. That is if you like your license.

So in short they are pretentious nonsense for wannabes

C&D seemed more "old mannish" and pretentious, R&T seemed more Fast and Furious, but for people who are law abiding...yet secretly wished they were reading Hotrod Magazine (yes, I read almost every damn American
mag there was, like a damn sponge).

"Tariffs and all that other shit." Typical.

If you cut out free trade of goods from other countries, force people into believing one religion or idealogy, enforce martial law upon people, and remove worker's rights to form a union...then that's communism, dipshit.

BTW, other than Native Americans and actually Mexicans, everyone else is an immigrant from either Europe, Asia or Africa.

Trotsky disagrees; "syndicalism (which uses unions as the basis of its economic system) was an embryo of a revolutionary party as against opportunism, that is, it was a remarkable draft outline of revolutionary Communism."

And religion?  Lenin thought religion stymied human development, Marx called religion the "opiate of the masses," and the book "ABC of Communism" claims that "communism is incompatible with religious faith."

You pretty much described the opposite of communism.

I see all the background additions, but they all fit the standard "insert cliche' politicized photo" mold more than anything....for some reason, seeing Michelle in mid-dance cracks me up, irrespective of any political connotation.

im not getting into a debate about modern day politics but i would like to address these statements abotu communism and help further the understanding of what communism is, in its original form, how it was intended to be by marx.

communism prohibits religion in public and the whole labor force would be unionized.

so vince, i hope you realize the sperm's getting to your brain.
communism does not prohibit religion, or anyother behavior that is unrelated to economic activity. in a true communist society , like th eone marx wanted and envisioned, there would be complete personal frreedom outside of economics.

If you cut out free trade of goods from other countries, force people into believing one religion or idealogy, enforce martial law upon people, and remove worker's rights to form a union...then that's communism, dipshit.

BTW, other than Native Americans and actually Mexicans, everyone else is an immigrant from either Europe, Asia or Africa.
your confusing totalitarianism with communism. yes, totalitarian countries like russia under stalin did do soem of these things and they did call themselves communists, but calling a dog a cat doesnt make it so.

capitalism is an economic system; communism is a political system.

you can be a communist country with a capitalist economic system (look at the Chinese today).

Please read some more a book.
communism is an economic system, put into action through political means.

china is not a communist country, it just calls itself that.

again, you can call a dog a cat but it doesnt make it so.

You pretty much described the opposite of communism.

marx was an atheist and anti-religious but his communist ideology did not have anything to do with controlling peoples personal behavior. it was limited to economic activity.

heres a short course in communism 101 for those of you having troubles with its definition=

1. abolishment of all private property.
2. every resource becomes the property of the community as a whole.
3. the resources must be used in the most responsible way possible, ensuring the most effecient and productive handling of them.
4. equal distribution of the resources to all humans who take part in the production processes.
5. those who do not participate and are able to do so are not given anything.

everyone is left to do whatever they please, behave in any manner in which they want to, so long as they are contributing to society. if they are not contributing, they get kicked to the curb.  unlike what conservatives would have you think, the communist system is very hard on slackers, much more so than our capitalistic socialism we have in the u.s., europe, and elsewhere.

dongz, i stand corrected.  after talking to my old man about this today, in the "old country", it was a "freedom from religion" law, much like in the US.  Meaning, you can practice your religion privately but are strictly prohibited from imposing it upon others.

also, just a couple tidbits on Karl Marx:

he was born to a wealthy industrialist father
he never worked a day in his life
died poor and hungry in London, but stuck to his principles of never working a day in his life.
was a piece of shit father who neglected his family
