I'm questioning your point. Obama was elected in part because he was able to run against Bush. This time around, "anyone but Obama" will be the candidate that a large number of independents choose.

I do disagree that the eventual nominee will be "crap." Will definitely be better than McCain, and will not have the Bush baggage.

The point you seem to be missing is just how bad Obama has been.

I only see the 3 possible nominee's at this point as Romney, Bachmann or Perry. Honestly, if you think one of those 3 can garner enough national appeal and majority to win, I'd say you're delusional. It just won't happen. McCain was much more electable than any of them.

I guess I'm delusional, because I think any one of the three frontrunners can beat Obama. I think anyone the Republicans nominate can beat Obama. His record stinks.

The poll 33 posted today shows a dead heat with Romney, Perry, Bachmann, and even Ron Paul.

We'll see, but right now I do believe Obama would get re-elected. It will come down to the debates and we'll see if whoever gets the Repub nomination can win the debates and get on a roll come election time. My mind is still open, but as of today I'd continue on with Obama. Romney and Perry could win my vote, Bachmann not a chance in hell.

Debates usually play a small role in the general election. What will be far more important is the state of the economy come election time.

There are million ways for Romney, Perry (and most definitely Bachman) to blow themselves up along the way.

Perry or Romney have a great chance to beat Obama...if you think otherwise your nuts. Perry has a record, one much better then Obama. Bachmann is batshit crazy and couldn't win. Its unfortunate that Palin can't come across as polished as Bachmann does on TV, then she could have a real chance.

Are you kidding? These is disastrous for Obama. The GOP has not even been campaigning against obama and the gallup numbers were from registered voters, not likely voters, where the gop always does better.

He is at 40% at gallup, 35% in PA, underwater in NY and many other swing states, etc.

unless an economic miracle occurs, he is done.
