Until the borders are closed and the illegals sent back, welfare will never come under control. Toughening up some of the guidelines, like work for welfare can help weed out some of the hangers on. Until there's a flat consumption tax, the wealthy will never pay a proportionate amount of tax (ask Warren).
Those 2 things are a base start that's needed to make long term fiscal change, and NO politician or party has the nuts to stand by it, so yes, what's the point? That, or legalize marijuana and prostitution. At this point I'd rather take someone who is willing to go to bat for the working class, not just focus on keeping the wealthy comfortable.
