Macbook vs regular laptop

Everyone with a macbook says it's the greatest thing since butt sex.  Is there really a difference for the average joe user?

Yes, buying the laptop over the Mac is around 3 times cheaper for the same experience.

No.  Not worth the price and no HDMI or Blu Ray means no Apple. Ever.

If you must use the Maxc OS (Snow Leopard) buy a cheap laptop or netbook like a lenovo and get the local geek to put hackintosh on it so you can dual boot win 7 and snow leopard.

Mac haters are hilarious!

I got a 13 MBP for $1200. I FUCKING LOVE IT!

Insane speed, at EVERYTHING. Backlit keyboard is beyond comparison. The trackpad is AMAZING and I get faster with it every day. I am faster with it than you are with a mouse believe that.

The battery fully charges in roughly an hour and lasts roughly 6 hours with heavy use. You can get 8 hours if you keep the screen dim.

The battery charger clips on magnetically, it's amazing. If you want to check battery life, you just press a button on the side.

The screen is awesome.

I installed a fan control and now I can easily see and control the core temperature.

The entire thing is very light and VERY thin when closed.

I never realized how cool it is to have an all aluminum body till I realized how nice it is that the whole thing does not flex one bit. I can put books and shit on it and not worry in the least.

When I download software, I downloads ultra fast and installs literally in seconds. SECONDS!!! I can install and uninstall software literally INSTANTLY.

I have never had a virus nor will I. I do not even run anti-virus software.

You get what you pay for. I cringe whenever I have to work on a pc. I literally hate them.

Only drawback is sometimes it's annoying to find software you want to use, but that's really not a huge drawback. The pro's HEAVILY outweigh the cons. I will never go back.

FWIW, my buddy told me if you are a programmer buy a pc, if you are just a regular computer user buy a Mac and he was 100% right.

I should also mention right now I can sell my 6 month old Mac for nearly what I paid for it. Go buy a pc and you will be LUCKY to get 50% of it's value back in just 6 months, if even that! A year from now I will STILL be able to get at leat 80% of my mac's purchase price, you probably wouldn't be able to get more than 20% for your pc (assuming you bought one).

Like I said, Mac haters are hilarious but truthfully most are blindly following the masses who decry Macs because they cannot afford them or have not used them.

Do yourself a favor, buy or borrow yourself a Mac pro and test it for just 1 week. I guarantee you that you will not regret it.

X2 LOL, you overpaid for what hardware you got, it is simple, what is inside your macbook could have been had tons cheaper on a laptop with windows 7 which is prob best windows os yet.  mac has one click mouse, it is for kids.

if you buy the pc it will most likely become infected with spyware, viruses,popups...etc.
the mac will not and will continue working problem free.

What I can say? You are a moron. "I hate PC, MAC is so much better, yakety yackety yak" So what there is so much better? It is a same hardware than you have in PC or regular laptop, so difference is in the operating system, which is good compared to earlier windows XP, Vista and that shit. With W7 microsoft has worked out their first real operating system since MSDOS, and it is close to MAC's OS, but still not as good as it is. I would buy a MAC with no problems, but try to buy some software in it and you are fucked, because everything cost more that same software for Windows. And If I want, I can play millions of games with windows OS, there is plenty of high quality and free software, you can buy and install hardware updates with no problems, you can build the whole machine from just those components you want, and that you can't do with MAC. If you are just average Joe, who want to use facebook and WWW, you are fine, but if you need more than that, it is a different story.

I am sorry but you have no clue what you are talking about.

Like I said before-buy rent or borrow a macbook pro and use it daily for a week. Spend time getting used to the OS and also the trackpad and keyboard. TRUST ME you will CRINGE at the thought of using anything less (which really is everything).

Before I bought this I had some cheap Toshiba satellite which broke on me, then I bought a nice 750$ Samsung Mac knock off, had an I5 and what have you, and it was cool, it was nice. Having used them I can honestly say the extra dough was WELL worth it. In fact, I would rather use a public computer for free than buy another pc. If I lost my Mac and could not afford another one I still would not spend one single penny on a pc of any kind.

I am done in this thread, you are all free to make your own decisions.

ive had multiple comps which have all succumbed to viruses and spyware to the point where they were no longer usable.

i then bought a mac mini for $500..it is as fast as anything ive used, the thing is the size of a couple cd cases, and it has never had any problems whatsoever.

i recommend buying a mac...they absolutely shit on other computers for practical everyday purposes.

Both have their pros and cons!

I'm a PC guy all the way.  Anyone will tell you Macs are easier to use once you get over the learning curve.  But Windows PC's are EXCELLENT machines if you know what you are doing on them!

Although, the best computer guys I know are all using the Mac OSX running on PC (Namely: Dell's) or ones they've built themselves.  To each their own.

I vote PC!
