is the suboxone worth it? What are the sides? How does it make you feel?

Great thing about suboxone is it only takes a week to stabilize on a high dose once there you can cut it down to 2mg everday. I do 1mg insulfiated twice a day. I enjoy the way I feel. The doctors will keep prescribing really high doses so you can set yourself up with a bit of stock pile in case shit went bad you wouldn't be cut off your meds right away. Side effects are dry mouth, constipation, less enjoyable orgasm same with regular opiates. They can all be managed though. I live a very normal life I use to get up everymorning and have to hustle to get pills for the day. I went like this for 2 years couldn't take it anymore! Suboxone saved my life. It will be a bitch to get off I know that but once I decide to get off I will go to a rehab for a week or two so I can have a nurse there to help me.

Cold Turkey.

Tough it out and believe in yourself. The worst part will be over after 2 weeks.

The cravings may never stop, dependent on your *nature*

Getting hooked on another drug to get off a drug is NOT a good idea. Suboxone is addictive, Methadone, even MORE so.

I've had some serious back injuries. Take it from me.

COLD TURKEY and don't look back. Ever.

You are right bro. I'm actually saving up my paid time off so I can go cold turkey. No way I can go to work and go through that at the same time. Suboxone is just switching addictions. Some people are better off on it though.

Yup I remember towards the end of the regular Oxycontin era white people would pay over a dollar a milligram. That's why many turn to heroin.

We use to get shit from the hillbillies. White trash on "disability" I can't believe some of the scum I would associate myself just to get high. I will admit it was really fun until things spiraled out of control. My pops caught on to what I was doing and almost kicked my ass.

This is a huge problem in the U.S. The problem is everyone is doing it. White, black, hispanic, Asian, Jew. Old, middle age, young. It doesnt matter. Docs hand them out like candy,, and they are worth alot on the street. Vicodin, percocet, roxis, and of course oxys.. Ive had a problem with these little fuckers in the past, really fucked my life up. What do you guys that have had problems in the past do to stay off? Suboxcone? Counseling? Ive said im done with this shit before and the next thing i know, im popping on a weekend and then every day. I understand i can no longer do that as i am an addict. Im clean now but not for long.  Dont ever touch these pills. Theyll fuck your life up...ive seen alot shit here in vegas that i wont post herw but let me tell you its fucking crazy out there man especially, with high unemployment....WOW.

This is why I invested in Purdue pharma, actavis, mallinckrodt/covidien and roxane/subutex/suboxone. made myself a legal millionaire. the cost of these drugs is through the roof even at the pharmacys a 80mg oxycontin tablet is roughly 14$ around 1350$ for 100ct bottle. and most prescriptions are usually at least 90 tablets. the 40mg oxycontin is the most prescribed and those are 7$ a piece. 700 per bottle. the actavis roxicodone is 110$ for 100ct at pharmacy suboxone is roughly 7$ a tab. very expensive stuff

Wiggs....reaching out to his imaginary internet friends to sort out his drug addiction. Do you really think this is the right route.

You're just going to keep popping pills. You're a weak minded individual plan and simple and you will not be able to sort this problem out

yourself. The only way for an addict such as yourself to overcome drug addiction is to seek out the help of a professional. Time to

start living in reality and stop living in the delusion that pills and weed provide. You have also shown a tendency for homosexual activity

in the past according to your own admittance. Wanting to have sex with a transexual is a form of homosexuality. As I mentioned, you

will need the help of a professional to sort out your problems. Good luck on your road to recovery.

Signed,

Your imaginary internet frriend

Ive noticed this is topic avoided on this boarding...Obviously there are others on this board that have problens and i thought i'd bring to light. Slingermann, myself, JNN, Unsung (pip) have had problems with this shit in the past.
The problems is when people start stealing from their folks or sotres, or pawning their folk's belongings and family heirlooms. Dudes selling their bikes, motorcycles, even cars. Meth chicks who use Oxy as well giving bj's with teeth that look like they have chewing on rocks.

I  ever met a pill I didn't like, but none of them have been any stronger than Bayer's aspiren ..... and my whole darm family has never had a need for a doctor's prescription as far as I can recall.

One old timer thanks the alcohol .... and lots of it, while others simply knock on wood and thank the Lord above.

I don't know if this has been mentioned above but a good number of well meaningful doctors write prescriptions that require another prescriptions to counter the ill effects of that first prescription .....  and on and on it goes until there in no more room in that medicine cabinet  in the bathroom.

One time a close friend of mine was hooked on pain killers as  a result of a gym injury to his lower back.

We took him fishing a mile or so off the coast of Waikiki , removed his back brace and threw his stash of pills overboard  and then threw him in as well .... and told him he'd have to swim back to the beach if he wanted to see the sun set that day or the next.

AND ..... He drowned !

NAH!  He didn't 'drowned'....

He swam back to the beach with us following far enough away so he wouldn't be encouraged to swim towards the boat.

A bit over an hour later we stood on Waikiki Beach watching hlm swim his last few yards and then slowly standing as his feet felt the sandy bottom of Waikiki Beach.

And as he proceeded to walk to shore with less and less boyancy he started crying because this was the first time in the past couple of years that he was able to walk erect without that damn leather and mrtal backbrace.

He was crying because he was happy. A grown man crying on Waikiki Beach is a seldom occurence and more than a few beach sunset watchers were overly concerned and tried to assist. But he just kept walking while we stood there and smiled.

But the big miracle was that those pain-killers were no longer needed .... but it did take him a few more days to realize that.

So....l  if you have friends who are in need of similar help, take them fishing and throw them in.

Sometimes it works!

Sometimes!

Doctor Dutch has lots of patients with painkiller related problems. Don't take that stuff for granted.

The safest is acetaminophen, which is (taken at the maximum prescripted dose) a far better painkiller than most people think. Ibuprofen can be taken if an inflammation is prominent, people who got stomach problems have to take some stomachprotector as well. Same for diclofenac. Overdosing can kill your kidneys and also the heart, but only if you are genetically vulnarable. Opioids are safe for short times, when the indication is acute heavy pains the addiction risk is usually slim, except for addiction-prone people.

If you want to workout with (slightly!) inflamed/painfull joints, take 400mg or maybe 600mg (at most) ibuprofen 1 hour prior to the workout, not afterwards. Don't use painkillers for DOMS, consider DOMS like a temporary war scar to be proud of. Be sure to distinguish DOMS from injury. If your injury is too heavy, don't train. Slap yourself in the face to fight the urge to exercise.

I have some experience in my work with painkillers, I've seen a lot of people suffering from wrong use.

Painkillers can be more dangerous than test, for sure.

take care my fellow iron warriors.

I've been prescribed a lot of Vicoden the last few years for some issues I had.  Bad dental problems and insane headaches.  I took them as needed and thankfully I never had any addiction issues with them.  I haven't had a reason to take them in the last year or so.  I was very carefull with them because of the risk of addiction.  I don't drink alcohol or use any recreational drugs so I was a little paranoid about them but I didn't have any trouble.

It was interesting to read about that dude who was trading pills with strippers.  Yes, very intersting indeed............

DOC D, Thanks for what seems to me to be an intelligent response. I say 'seems' because I am uneducated when it comes to drugs of any sort, ..... but I have to admit that I have been associated with many drug users under many adverse conditions.

I mean conditions associated with death, suicide, murder, incarnation, and asylum commitments. And even hi-jacking a tank and seeing how fast it would go within a civilian environment  such as the main street through a small town.

I have often claimed to have seen it all, but as the years go by,  I tend to realize that the worst is yet to come.

Some occurences have been down-right funny such as the lady who threatened to commit suicide by jumping from her balcony onto the manicured lawn no more than 6 inches below her toes.

A 6 minute drive with someone holding her down to an over-night in somf psycho ward and an early morning stomach pump solved that problem temporarily ...

But others have been not so funny and very serious ... such as the night a good friend OD'd and dropped to the street appearing dead as a door-knob.

And he would have continued to look that way ... but another drugged out compatriot took a running leap and kicked him in the chest muttering something like, "Get up! You lazy bastard!".

And that crazy kick by his crazed-out buddy saved his life according to the medics.

Could tell you more about those crazy drug days but what I really meant to tell you is that ABSOLUTE FEAR is a great cure-all that has yet to be studied within the medical community.

And to be literally SCARED SHITLESS drug free just might be the cure-all of all cure-alls in the not too distant future.

But it's definitely USELESS as a recreational drug!

Ask me. I know! But when it comes to drugs, I'm dumb as shit.

Been there! Done that! And in each and ever episode I was as sober and drug free as the provervial judge. And I ain't intending to be going back to the way things used to be.

Hell, I even turn off my phone when the sun goes down and never respond to a knock on the door when the sun ain't shining on it.

But I do have a shit-load of stories to tell even though I've never been a druggie.

I do wish the best to you guys doing your best for a successful recovery.

And I'll simply end by saying this .... All the people I've known in my lifetime who were heavily into a drugged up lifestyle are dead except for two who walk around like zombies.. And only one other appears o be well on the road to recovery after a few years locked up,

And that sole individual is the only one who called before sunset to say, "Thanks for your help, but never trust me again because even though they say I'm cured, I'll always be a junkie."

Good luck breaking free!
