What was that over?  the mother said something about him pulling 3 cards and he made bad choices?  This was over a fucking game?  The mother is a fucking psycho if she is doing this over a game.

I do believe there needs to be some kind of consequences for wrong doing but it doesn't have to be psycho shit and you don't have to beat the crap out of them or torture them.  Especially at an early age, when they see you're upset with them, that's really all that's needed at that age.

That little boy is one of a set of twins they adopted from Russia .. the other twin has no issues ... she abuses him .. that is NOT discipline

The little boy has behavioural problems and needs medication and psychological treatment .. her husband is the Police Chief and he allows that shit to go on

Saw this on Dr Phil a few years ago Ans was horrified. It made me cry.  

The kid was adopted from an orphanage in Russia or something. . Dr Phil offered help and also did a follow up show. I think it turned out OK,  but the kid was severely traumatized from his experiencesin Russia. The mother was way out of line and he let her know it.

her approach in dealing with this is abusive semi-torture imo.  Way way wrong.  This is an idication to me that there is zero love between the mother and child.  She needs to work on the love a little more.

semi torture is pretty accurate .. FFS .. throwing him into a freezing cold shower AFTER the hot sauce ritual is beyond abuse .. they live in Alaska .. can you imagine how cold the water gets ? .. and she had her 10 yr old birth daughter filming the fucking show .. so God knows what the other kids live with .. her worthless ball-less husband doesn't step up to stop any of it

Im not excusing her actions but if anyone filmed some of the discipline I got from my old man, hell, he would have gone to prison in this day and age. It sure was a different itme back then, remember? Kids got the beats with thin branches, with a leather belt, paddles, slapped in the face, ears pulled, soap in the mouth, forced to eat their food till they puked, forced to smoke if caught, kneeling in the corner for a long time, made to walk back all the way home alone, dunce caps on the head and the list goes on. Seems like the parental discipline the older generation recieved raised a group that was a lot tougher and more respectfull then todays spoiled, soft ass kids.

I think she was correct in looking him eye to eye and not looking down at him...HOWEVER her deliverance was completely off the charts. You can raise your voice, sure but to scream like that..YIKES.

If you hold your foot down when you follow through with consequences, i.e. no tv, no toys as far as discipline, trust me they get it. If you cave in, they will believe there is no consequences.

dude .. the brain can be born to misfire .. and the psyche of a child can be damaged .. we have psychiatrists and medications that can help children overcome issues they CANNOT control .. it's not inconceivable that this child was damaged either in utero or through the experiences he lived with after being born ... either way .. seeking out a viable option to help him is not the same as what you are inferring
