If Republicans were smart, they would actually get behind those who don`t pay any income tax instead of singling them out for not doing so.  Start with them and build from there and you may actually have a foothold in getting something like a National Sales Tax (which I support 100 percent) or a Flat Tax (Which is also a good direction to go in).

But no, instead, they are thrown under the bus when they should be the ones being supported.  They are cast aside by them because they have no intention of EVER changing the tax code other than by a few percentage points here and there.

Top scale in Holland in the late 70s and early 80s was 72%.....the socialdemocratic party had plans back then to go up to 99% for incomes over 100.000 guilders (about 50.000 dollars). Never happened of course.

Nowadays it's 52% for income over about everything 45.000 euro's. And very low incomes don't pay much, that's true...

Asking a middle income person to pay at least $1 towards the military, justice department, and all Federal Govt costs is not too much to ask.

They get damn near everything for free now. He even wants (or did) increase UE benefits for another year with money we don't have. Whats the incentive to get these lazy asses to be a productive part of society? You can't keep giving and giving and giving with nothing in return.
