Scarface is the greatest gangster movie of all time!
I watched all the gangster movies including the original Scarface with Paul Muni!

the more and more i thikn of al pacino i get to the conclusion he may very well be the best actor plent earth ever had walking it ,,

marlon was very good
roberto deniro great great acotr
johnny depp ,, very good actor but the generation fails him

i really start thinking that al pacino may very well be the most important actor planet earth has ever had ,, i will truly feel like i lost someone in family when he is dead

the only one who i keep thinking maybe same level is jack ,,only becaue of the kookoo nest and the shining ,, but still i would give it to al pacino most likley if had to make final choice

god bless him

Agree. He is one of the best if not the best. It is very close between him and Robert de Niro. Don't forget Taxi Driver - Robert was amazing in that role. On the same level as Tony Montana. Daniel Day Lewis is also one of the best: There will be Blood, Gangs of New York, My left Foot.

Of the current generation the "No Country for Old Men" actor Javier Barden is very very good. His villain in that movie is one of the most memorable and coldest of all time. His movie Biutiful was outstanding.

Gene Hackman was great in the French Connection movies, especially 2. Almost all of his movies were great!

Black people love this movie.

You got that right. When I first move to Cali back in the early 1980s when I was 19 yrs old I went looking for an apartment. Of course I was just looking for the cheapest place I could find. I was pretty naive and didn't know that on the mainland people lived and separated themselves by race (Only if you're poor or lower/mid middle class. Being rich trumps race). In Hawaii everyone is pretty much mixed and the only hard core racism is targeted towards Whites (haoles) which is why no one makes a big deal out of it. Anyway, of course I found myself as the only non-Black right smack in Crip territory in Inglewood. My neighbor, Coke Evans, who always wore a track suit and shiny Jerry Curl hair, took a liking to me. Invited me over for ribs and and to watch a VHS movie. It was Scar Face and I never heard of it and didn't know what to expect. There I was sitting in a hot ass cramped apartment with a bunch of his homies and hood rat whores, some smoking weed, watching Scar Face. I didn't really know Al Pacino but he was magnificent in that movie. That's when I got into the whole God Father series. He and Dinero became my favorite actors. They've changed lot since then. More so Pacino. I miss all that gangster stuff they'd do.

Anyway, I couldn't believe I went from Hawaii to some inner city ghetto. I lived in that crime infested neighborhood for over 3 years. What an experience.

BTW, the homies also loved Kung Fu movies. I did, too, but only Bruce Lee movies. He was my hero as a kid. I couldn't handle Black Belt Jones.

Whites, do you read this? This is why you are fucked once you are a minority in America and Europe. Because non-whites sees racism against whites as no big deal.

Pellius, have fun with being a bigot while it lasts. Interesting how you admire and look up to great white actors, but if there is racism against their race it is no big deal.

I don't know. I think it might be just getting old. Estrogen level rises Just like Dinero they don't have that edge. Of course it could be the material available. When I think of Dinero I think of Raging Bull, Taxi, Good Fellas, Once Upon a Time in America. Now he does those daddy movies. Pacino is even worse. Gone from Scar Face, God Father, Scent of a Woman to... I don't know. Cr. Chimps here described today's Pacino aptly. Said he now comes across as a hysterical lesbian.

But you're right. I think they are last generation of really, really good actors. Not just pretty faces and hype but real talent and crafted skill.

What are you talking about? I don't look up to anybody because of their race. And everyone, I mean the culture, see racism against Whites as no big deal or rather non existent. A cop beats a white dude  not nearly as big a deal as if he was a black. If a McVeigh blows a bunch of people up the media can't wait to call him a White Christian. But you'll hear no mention of race until you do some digging if it was a Black.

Hawaii was conquered by Whites. The Queen had to abdicate under threat of force. Whites are a minority here. Generally speaking locals hate them. We have kill Haole day in the public schools prior to Christmas vacation where you beat up a Haole. Just like Whites are prejudice against Blacks on the mainland. But in the view of the liberal media Whites are a privilege class. They love it when they are on the other end of the stick. And it makes Whites feel good about themselves when another White goes down. Shows how fair and progressive they are.

I'm prejudice in regard to culture. Inner city urban culture: primarily Blacks and Mexicans; Muslim culture: primarily Islamic fundamentalist; Bodybuilding culture: primarily schmoes and insulin bloofyness.

Act in a civil manner. Show some manners and consideration and I don't care if you're a Haole, Nig gha, Towel Head, Jap, Chink, Sand Nig gha, Jew... just act like a halfway decent human being.

I've never gotten the hype. It's certainly evocative of the over-the-top 80's garishness and selfishness, and neon. Not quite it's-so-bad-it's-good, but not so-good-it's-good. Pacino certainly out-overacts Muni.

Let's be positive: Maybe the best movie to portray Mariel boatlift trash.    ;D

Dinero in his prime was number one for me. Pacino never seemed to transform himself so completely to fit the character like Dinero such as in Raging Bull and the highly under rated Once Upon a Time in America. Plus, in a cage fight I'd have to go with Dinero.( I just remembered that small scene in Goodfellas where Dinero was in the phone booth and just heard that Pepsci, who was suppose to be made, got whacked instead. It wasn't a major scene or anything like that but the way Dinero pulled that off. Anger and then trying to hold in his grief, knocking that phone booth down, trying not to cry. That little tidbit was such a powerful scene for me. Couldn't find it on YouTube.)

Honorable mention for guys like James Woods, Robert Duvall, Tommy Lee Jones, Dennis Hopper..., few others that are soon to be lost and gone forever.
