Question to you shorter guys ( <= 5"8 )

How do you deal with it in your daily life ? Especially in clubs, where often tall men will try to belittle you to pickup chicks ?
I am 5'7-5'8 and have never really worried about my lack of height except when taller fellas break my balls a little.....I must say that some of the most insecure people that I know are tall blokes.

I would probably like to be at least 6'0 or 6'1...but I really don't worry a ton about it....if some chick digs a dude because he is taller than me....so be it....there are some fantastic women that are somewhat short....just my .02!

HERE is a good example of a smaller guy knocking out a big guy though

TANK VS CHESTON
(no crowbars here)http://www.trutv.com/video/black-gold/knocked-the-out.html

the more impressive thing out of that fight is how quickly the "little guy" recovered from the punch.  it's like it didn't even phase him, and he immediately went into ass kicking mode.

also, i wouldn't call the smaller guy "small".

p.s. lots of testosterona, ghona, trenbolina in that bar.

Taller guys(6+) hardly belittle the short ones - it's usually the idiots who are barely an inch higher and then feel like lashing out... especially during puberty.

when a 5'2" bloke intimates me I feel like crawling under the nearest shrub and getting into the fetal position and crying.

I never really had problems with my height (5'6) in daily life. However for me being shorter has made me more fearful and intimidated. I am not an agressive person but sometimes I feel quite defenseless, especially when I see a bunch of 6'5 + guys walking around.

I don't carry knives or guns.

I believe that as a man you should be able to defend yourself against most people. If you are of an average height that is the case. A 5'11 person can fight a 6'7 person, but a 5'6 one cannot, unless he is some kind of world class martial artist or something I guess.

So the depressing thing about it is that you are essentially defenseless against a signitificant portion of the population. I have never had to confront this kind of situation, but I guess if I am faced with a 6'5 + person my only option is to run...

Then again I am considering arming myself...

You seem like the kind of guy who likes getting "intimated" by various blokes.

Nowadays fights are psychological, not physical anymore in our modern societies. People are going to become more perverse psychologically, but wont lift a finger anymore.

You can destroy someone with a sentence or a stare, no need for physical violence.

I did say smaller, nothing else.

The size-difference was apparent though.

Being 5'11" since my teens, I have never experienced what it was like to be short. My father was 6'5" so I was expecting to continue getting taller into my early twenties. That didn't happen which was something of a disappointment to me. However I was so damned skinny that it was probably a good thing I didn't get any taller after turning fifteen years old.

My step-dad was only 5'5" tall. Since my mom was 5'8" and up to 3" taller in high heels, my mom and my step dad made for an interesting looking couple walking down the street or when they were out dancing.

Height isn't everything. Statistically, taller guys get better jobs and are supposedly more successful in life. But I must say that my step-dad was twice the man my dad ever was. So being tall isn't everything apparently. I agree with the fellows here who said it is more about your attitude than your altitude.

What you would need to do in a confrontational situation is go for a takedown and then ground and pound. I am 6' but if I was confronted with someone 6'5 or above thats what I would do.

Well a big city, but quite safe really. Police are doing their job, crime rates are low. I have never had a serious confrontation really, it's more of a psychological issue to me than a practical issue.
