massacres were occurring because when the rebellion started, Gadaffi began to inflict violence on civilian protesters..plus the situation was rapidly deteriorating due in most part to Gaddafi having no real army unlike many other countries like Syria....also the Russians are holding up action on Syria....why aren't you blaming Putin or Medvedev?

There are a bunch of videos floating around showing Syrian forces massacring civilians but interestingly enough there isn't jack shit of the Libyan military doing the same. However, what is floating around is a video of a soldier from Gadhafi's side being hung from a window by his feet and beheaded while a crowd of animals stands around chanting, "Allahu Akbar". A British newspaper also found mass graves with bodies wearing the uniforms of Gadhafi's military, thus indicating that these rebels are executing prisoners of war.

So jog on with your "you refuse to pay attention to facts" bullshit.

It is well documented that the region the majority of these rebels hail from sent more fighters per capita to Iraq than any other spot on the planet (and were second in total fighters sent only to the Saudi trash coming out of Riyadh). It is also well documented that fighters from Al Qaeda and other jihadist groups are among their ranks and now looking to subvert the rebels in their quest to install an Islamic state.

of course what Syria is doing is wrong but in the end we can't intervene everywhere at one time.....right now its being taken up in the U.N. where Russia is holding up action on Libya by threatening a veto.....Libya has no military because Ghaddafi purposely made sure there would no elements within a said military to depose him like he deposed the gov't 42 years ago.....so the situation is different....funny you don't blame Russia since you want to put the blame on Obama so much

also war is not perfect and massacres happen all the time in all conflicts....American soldiers have raped and massacred as well....its normal during wartime to seek revenge on your enemies..do we condemn the entire U.S. military for that?...NO..nor should we...

Where 20,000 SAM's lost in Iraq?  NO.  Why is that? Because even though through the  idiocy of Rumsfield our troops were smart enough to secure weapons like that before they landed in the hands of insurgents/terrorists.  This is Obama's mess up because he involved us in a war irresponsibly and didn't consider the aftermath.

Again, a few might be plausible but 20,000 no.   And I seriously doubt any Russian nukes have gone missing indefinitely.

Defeated in battle, Moammar Gadhafi's army left behind armories brimming with weapons, and the rebels have helped themselves. It's not just guns that have been plundered. Almost every outpost captured by opposition forces has yielded weapons -- everything from AK-47 assault rifles to grenades to surface-to-air missiles (SAMs). And the rebels tell ABC News that they don't have enough resources to safeguard them all -- which means they may wind up in the hands of people who have other agendas than defeating Gadhafi.
According to Peter Bouckaert, emergencies director at Human Rights Watch, the weapons the looters want most, and take first, are the SAMs.
HRW estimates there are 20,000 surface-to-air missiles in Libya, and many of those are now missing. Some are recent Russian-made SAMs, capable of shooting down aircraft flying as high as 11,000 feet.
"They have no military use in this war," said Bouckaert. "Gadhafi is not flying any airplanes, he's not flying any helicopters. So why are people looting these very powerful and dangerous missiles?"
Bouckaert suggested that some of the looters might have other targets in mind. "They can be used to shoot down a civilian plane. That's what al Qaeda tried to do in Mombasa a few years ago."
U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has urged the Libyan rebels to protect Gadhafi's weapons stockpiles "to ensure that weapons from Qaddafi's stockpiles do not threaten Libya's neighbors and the world." It may be too late. Bouckaert of HRW warns that they are now "in the hands of unknown people."

20,000 SAMs aren't the only weapons that have gone missing. It was fucking Toys'R'Us for terrorists in there. I've been posting stories for months talking about the sheer amount of weaponry that's "vanished".
