Verizon iPhones in New Zeland?

I'm having trouble finding answers...

I'll be going to New Zeland within the next 6-8 weeks and want to know if my CDMA Verizon iPhone will work there?

I know a GSM iPhone wouldn't work ...having mixed answers doing google search.

Anyone? Bueller?
