In my post, I meant I doubt that the pathology is arterial-related.
Although, thinking about it more, I wonder if the problem could be venous.
Honestly, I don't know enough about it
(and I won't bullshit you, either), but we run upper extremity venous tests for thrombus on people who present with swollen HANDS and/or ARMS.
But, I've never seen someone come in with only swollen fingertips.
I'm not saying it doesn't or can't happen; only that I, personally, have never seen it.
But, don't rely on me.
Go get that second opinion!
