Wake up guys - kick the consume addiction.
You don't need any of this shit.
Instead go to the next good hiking or hunting store buy yourself the following if you do i right it will not cost you more than $400 but you need to shop around:
1) Good backpack - spend a good amount of money on this don't go cheap - Don't buy an US Army Alice pack, they may look cool vietnam style but they are horrible to carry, the backpack and boots are the most important stuff you will buy.
2) Bushcrafting knife or a good hunting knife - not the rambo knife which is useless - get something with a short blade which is easy to use if you have to take down a small tree or kill and gut a rabbit, u cut yourself outside and you could be in a whole word of trouble.
3) flintstone (firemaking easy) - Ridicules easy to make fire, unless your wood is deep wet
4) Survival essential pack which will have a wistle, they come in the good small packs and you should wear it in your poket since you may loose your rucksack or have to run away from it.
5) Depending were you life some good pants (army stuff is not too bad, you want something that dries fast and without a lot of effort - jeans are a complete no no),
6) Spend good money on a 2 - 3 season bivibag sleeping sack - snugpacks are considered the best i have the one that is called special forces and I kid you not I have sleept in freezing cold weather outside without a fire and was sweating in it, very warm (don't sleep in your cloth get your boots off).
7) Spend money on a good compas and a good map (detailed as possible) if you don't know how to read a compas learn it today it isn't easy to learn but once you got it you are fine.
8 ) Slingshot - you can also buy only the rubber part of the slingshot to save space and make your own, I suggest to get yourself the Cobra its easy to shoot i have killed many rabbits and even a bird with it.
9) Take an old mobile phone fully charge it - turn it off - keep it save and dry.
10) Spend good money on a wetbag - depending were you go hiking they come real fucking easy when its raining cats and dogs - buy the once these guys use for wild river ravting.
11) hiking boots - do not look further than LOWA hiking boots - German mountain army uses them i have three pair and they are 100% reliable, don't get yourself the ALTAMA jungle boots I have a pair and i like them but they are no hiking boot (unless you spend time in the jungle).
Go out inna woods and live life i guarantee you will feel alife and good.
Edit: Saving space is key, don't go ultra light but save space were ever you can, you dont need 2 extra pair of pants or tshirts, lifing a few days outside means you will not smell too good and you will be dirty which is good since it masks the sense of fresh after shave etc.
Saving space without compromising your security and survivbility is key.
