After dieting for a lengthy period of time, the body can take in a little junk food and it can have a positive effect as far as filling the body out......prolonged dieting with low carbs and low cals can leave the body flat and depleted. Mike Mentzer mentioned many times that he was able to eat ice cream precontest because his cals were so low. Certainly doesn't mean you can eat 5000 cals a day consisting of junk food.....it just means that certain days these guys can have hamburgers or ice cream etc....and it fills their muscles up with glycogen.
