Crocs are ambush predators...you could be gettig water at a random place, or the same place you do everday, and then...bam! That croc has you. Their color blends in with the murkiness of the water or the bottom of the watering spot...and they can hold their breath for a long period of time...all the while, waiting for the right chance (drop your guard, looking down, arms down---not defensive, head turned, etc).

If that croc was in human areas, it should be removed.  Plain and simple.    And it should be removed humanely. 

Now if they went and destroyed it, that's wrong.  I doubt they did because they wouldn't have taken the time to tie it up etc.  They could've shot it.

Agreed I don't think they have to kill it but get it away from the areas where a lot of humans go. Just imagine being crushed to bits bye that thing. It would be like falling into a huge piece of machinery. Gruesome horrible death! Now Imagine an innocent kid getting crushed up.

Go down for what? For removing the croc in a humane way? This was a huge croc, too big to feed on local wildlife, unless it took a water buffalo calf, so it is quite possible that it was feeding on a kid or two...
