I'm sure the ATF and others will jump to the same conclusion as that idiot Bloomberg in New York and push for stiffer gun laws. I now keep a .45 under the seat in my vehicle when on Post. Its not safe anywhere.
3:25 p.m., update: A gunman opened fire at a Carson City IHOP on Tuesday, killing three people and injuring eight more before killing himself, Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong said. The shooter, Eduardo Sencion, 32, of Carson City came down from South Lake Tahoe, where he works at his family’s business, spent the night in Carson City. His family reported nothing “unusual” about him Monday night but indicated Sencion might have “mental health issues,” Furlong said.
Authorities were first notified of a shooter in the 3300 block of South Carson Street at 8:58 a.m. The first offciers were on the scene by 9:03 a.m. and found Sencion on the ground with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Furlong said. Sencion died later at a hospital.
Two of the deceased and three more of the wounded were uniformed Army National Guardsmen assigned to the base in Carson City. The rest of the victims were civilians, Furlong said.
The reason for the shooting was unknown, Furlong said.
“We are actively pursuing an investigation on the motive,” he said.
Authorities are also trying to determine the sequence of events. At least one person was shot outside the IHOP, but authorities can’t say “who was shot first or last.”
Some of the victims have minor wounds; some “are pretty severe,” Furlong said.
Authorities found one empty 30-round magazine and two more still containing rounds on the ground. ATF is attempting to determine if the gun was in fact an automatic weapon, as was reported earlier, Furlong said.
