I also find it repulsive to stare at a plate full of bite Marked unfinished crusts as if there were some sort of giant Rodent mingling about.
I'm with you. I wouldn't go as far as saying "replusive" ( you have very tender sensibilities, Apenis, which is why you are such a fag) but I do find it a bit unseemly. Just kind of tacky. If it was me I'd cover it with a napkin but I a very vigilant crust eater and will not take another slice until the present is fully consumed. I like the guy's idea of dipping it in pizza sauce. Papa John's has those garlic butter sauce that they include with their bread sticks. That would be a great dipping sauce as as well. In fact, I asked them why they don't include the garlic/butter dipping sauce with their thin crust pizza and they actually told me because there's really not a lot of crust with the thin to dip.
I once asked a friend why he doesn't eat the crust. He says, similar to a previous poster, that it takes up space that could and should be use for the parts with the toppings. If he still wants to eat more after whoofing down all topped pizza parts then he'll go back and forage on the scraps.
I think that is a perfectly reasoned and well thought out strategy for eating pizza to maximize value, pleasure and satiation.
Good thread, BTW. These things need to be discussed.
