The cape in most scenes will be computer generated to make it 'flow' more impressively while Supe flies around town. So that 'cape-less' photo might be just prior to filming a flight scene or immediately after.

I gotta admit that the actor appears more muscular than I originally thought he would.

Anyone care to take a guess what that suit cost the studio and how many such suits are standing by in case they are needed?

In case there are any motion picture enthusiasts in the house, take a look at the small camera in the background. I can't tell if it will be the actual camera that will be used in filming the movie but there is a relatively new digital camera called "RED" that is just about that small and is capable of shooting high quality, digital footage for the major theater screens.

It appears to be the professional camera of choice now-a-days. Check out Red.com for some interesting info.

OMG  $58,000 for a camera.  It better have a guarantee of a number 1 box office showing for the first week.

The fake muscles are depressing.  Superman wouldn't make a suit with them.

Fake muscles on Batman make a bit of sense from intimidation and armor angles.

But the thing about Superman has always been that Clark Kent is his disguise and Superman is the real guy.  Plus, Supes doesn't need armor or fake intimidation.  He's more god than man.

Yea, Alex, if I recall right the entire works came to over $60,000 originally. We were going to purchase two kits and rent them out on a daily basis but there was a long waiting list and the parties involved have all been working constantly so that plan fell apart real fast.

During hard economic times the movie production business picks up because people get depressed and seek some form of comfort on the motion picture screen.  My family members have only had a moment's free time during that last writers' strike but have been very busy ever since.

Camera equipment rental is a very interesting business which I'll do my best to explain if there is any interest.

It's actually still very cost effective in that field compared to other options.

I heard about RED. That thing is awesome.

We were shooting with RED a couple of years back... Trust me... It's AWESOME.

Plus, with the codecs you can use now, You can fit a TON of HD in a very small digital space.

RED is the shit.

It's a muscle suit much like the batman suits were.  I'm guessing the suit cost around $60-80k factoring in labor, design, materials etc including 1 backup.

For that money, it would be much easier to put the actor on AAS and HGH for 5 months.  ;D ;D ;D

If no one knows Superman's true identity, who zips up his Superman suit for him?

Superman is so fast he can run behind himself and zip up before he even realizes he turned around.

It would have inevitably involved some discussion about the Hulk and who is stronger...
