It was legal because there was no obligation for the fighters to touch gloves after the point deduction.

I've seen in MMA where a guy goes to touch hands before a fight/round starts and one guy wants no part and tries to knock the other guy out. Did the ref in this case actually separate after the head butt? or was it just the fighters who acknowledged it? huge difference.

You are 100% correct. I love how everyone complains about a LEGAL punch from Mayweather, but have nothing to say about the ILLEGAL headbutt from Ortiz. He got knocked the f@#k out and the stats show that Mayweather was leading all three rounds on 2 of the judges cards and leading 2 rounds to 1 on the other card. The better and more experienced fighter won, the more likeable fighter lost. PERIOD.

if the ref was in outer space looking off in another direction thats not mayweatehrs concern, they approaching each other and its a fight, not a pussification of body launguage reading skils. its a fight.

In this video, I see merchant as the aggressor and the pussy. This fight was worth hundreds of millions of dollars across the globe and Larry fucking Merchant had to destroy a perfect opp. to really get inside the head of Mayweather. This video shows that Merchant is a half brain and has zero clue how to use passive aggressive tactics to get juicy details. Merchant entangled himself into the outcome of a massive fight. boxing needs to learn from MMA and get rid of all the old boxing douches behind the mic. Its a new fucking world. Merchant did nothing to promote boxing tonight. One of the best fighters in the world just knocked out a guy for head butting him and Larry made it a point to make it about himself. What a fucking joke. We all can't get that moment back.
