phil will have to build his image and persona, just like jay and ronnie (the best, just based on his youtube footage alone, yip yip).

no one will notice him the 1st yr, just like dex.

off to a nice start with his sharply named "Gifted Athletics".  now, he has to hit the road every weekend like ronnie and jay.

Because Cutler is white clear and simple, a black guy is always the hard sell. It's not racist it's simply because people gravitate to people that look like them. Cutler knew this is why he got chosen as he looks like the all american ideal, half the reason he had the stupid ass hair cut was because it made him look cool to the punk kids in highschool.

yep, Ronnie was a hard sell. when last i remember his footage is more popular than jay's swollen monkey exercise video.  in fact i've never heard someone say, play a jay video again. ops, they were asleep.

jay went into bbing to make money.  you could market kulco or evan, just as well, but i don't think they have the same obsession as jay to get paid.

In bodybuilding or in general?

If in general it's irrelevant - Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Shaquille O'Neal etc etc...

And even in bodybuilding, Ronnie and Lee Haney tried to market themselves as best they could but always fell short because bodybuilding is an underground subculture, not a proper spotr, so they could only take it so far.
