Jezebelle and I drink a Strawberry Smoothie nearly every single day.  We each drink half.  If you are just having it for yourself you can of course, half the recipe.

Here is our standby recipe we use. It is the best thing ever:

Strawberry Cream Pie Smoothie



WHY THIS RECIPE WORKS:
For our Strawberry Cream Pie Smoothie we skipped the ice in favor of flavorful frozen fruit. Ice did nothing but dilute the smoothie’s flavor. Bananas were a must for a creamy, thick texture. Whole-milk yogurt and low-fat yogurt worked well, but tasters did not like nonfat yogurt, which produced a “gritty" texture. We sweetened the smoothie with a little honey to complement the fruit and add extra body to the smoothie.

Makes 5 1/2 cups

INGREDIENTS
2 cups frozen strawberries
2 small bananas, roughly chopped (about 1 1/2 cups)
1 and 1/2cups vanilla yogurt
1/2cup apple juice
2 tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

INSTRUCTIONS
Mix all ingredients in blender until smooth.

Oh, that looks awesome!  I'll let you know how it goes.  Mine was extremely simple in comparison.  Do you think it's OK if I throw my egg protein powder in and substitute the yogurt for almond milk?  I'm extremely sensitive to dairy.

I could be wrong because I've been drinking it so long but I think it's the exact same viscosity as real milk.  You should definitely try it, and see if you can do anything with it.  It actually does taste good too.

I think I came across a few things with Almond Milk the other day actually.

With the Smoothie recipe though, I think the thicker consistency of the yogurt is probably necessary.  I wonder if there is any kind of Almond Yogurt out.  It seems like it would be able to be made from Almond Milk, the same way Yogurt is made.  hmmmm.
