About fucking time. I had some gay and lesbian comrades and it was sad they couldn't serve openly. Wed have our military ball or other functions and theyd always be alone or invite their "cousin".  I am really happy for them. Thank you Congress, Senate and of course President Obama. I agree to a point i served in the MARINES  i knew 2 gay guys they would never admitt it but we all knew but they were brothers to our unit before we found out and they never slacked on anything tough as nails. As long as they are not holding hands or kissing in uniform i dont care as long as i can rely on them when the shit hits the fan,thats all that matters to me.

Thousands of gays during the peroid of dont ask dont tell were kicked out for being gay. They can join and have been, its about not having to hide who you are. We were one of the few first world countries doing this.
