How many hours do you sleep?

And is it that "crucial" for growth as they say?
Personally I can get away and have gotten away with less hours of sleep, as long as I up my cals a little bit to aid in recovery.

Got to bed around 11-11:30 get up at 7.

I only get about five hrs a night and work 7days a week so rest isn't great. My ideal week off work would be each day training, back to bed, watch some films and eat loads and sleep loads

Sleep less, quality goes up. Sleep longer, quality goes down.
It's like the grams-per-pound protein rule, it doesn't matter except when it's excessive....

Another interesting subject, so I GOOGLED to find out what the experts have to say ...

Infants   …….14 to 15 hours
Toddlers ….12 to 14 hours
School-age children ……10 to 11 hours
Adults    …..7 to 9 hours

ANd that is what they said.

Ok, but a bodybuilder doesn't need more sleep, maybe more rest but that's a different thing.

That's kind of sad. I am far from a ball of fire in the morning but a good night's sleep followed by a cup of coffee and I'm ready to go. The coffee isn't a necessity either

I guess it would be worse if I knew how feeling rested actually felt and never felt it again.

My whole life I have never slept well. I am a very light sleeper.

I could set an alarm, but that is pointless. I'm gonna wake up before it goes off anyway.


I can take naps after a workout, but not for long.

i fell asleep this after noon and went to the gym 10 minutes after waking up

i could only squat my 10 rm squat for 3

From 6 to 12 hours.
It's all in the head... though I would recommend 8 hours to be safe.

But I can workout late at night, take a quick shower and sleep like a baby immediately. Friend of mine can't sleep if he trains after 7 PM...
