He is absolutely right. UC Berkely is close to IVY LEAGUE STATUS!! It is an awesome school. They should not just admit anyone. You should earn your way in and not be admitted because of race or gender. This will bring the quality of education down.

i missed out on more than a few jobs because of affimative action. i have even been told by one employer that they needed females and minorities..which looking back i think was pretty stupid of him but was a nice gesture so i wouldn;t wait by the phone

As a black women, I believe that  race, gender, ethnicity or national origin should not be a consideration for admission into to best colleges.  However, I some what understand the decision to consider race as a factor for admission into college. A large number of the minority communittee is at a disadvantage for their children to get a proper education because they cannot afford to live in the neiborhoods with the best school. The Board of Education has ristrictions on where your kids can go to school
