A computer simulation of a hypothetical battle between the two in which Anderson picks Jones apart in the stand-up and KOs him with the same spinning elbow Jones like so much. Anderson is taken down several times, but manages to avoid Jones' ground-and-pound until finally dominating him in the stand-up.

I actually agree with George Whorewell that there is no way that Anderson could beat Jones. The latter is much bigger, stronger, with a greater reach and supreme take-downs. If a 185 lbs Chael Sonnen could take Anderson down at will, a much stronger and technically superior wrestler like Jones would toy with him. Jones would probably not even take Anderson down, though. He would want to humiliate Anderson by sominating him in the stand-up with his much greater power and reach.

Nevertheless, if Anderson were to win, this is exactly how it would happen: Anderson would start moving his head around like he always does avoiding Jones' punches, and he would dance with his legs to the left and right, back and forth until he got into an agle where he saw an opening in Jones' guard and clip him several times until he has such a good opening that he can deliver a devastating punch.

lol for even thinking silva has a chance.

1. silva doesnt have the reach or skill set to fight someone with 20inch reach. his best chance is kicking the shit out of his legs
melvin monoef vs shields is a good example of how he should attack his legs. from there hopefully try to land a flying leg lock of some sort like ryo
done to him

he might be well rounded but he has not reached that level of conditioning for his legs compared to someone doing thai boxing like silva there whole lives

2. there comes a point were to much height and weight with similar fighting skills becomes too much and you just cant do nothing.

ive only read of 2 fighters were height wasnt a problem and they are sam langford and barbados demon joe walcott. joe was a 5'0 welterweight
defeating heavy weights and knocking them out even though they have a massive reach advantage. same as sam langford
he was 5'5 knocking people from light weight to heavy

i know there not mma fighters but they did use 4oz gloves and there boxing wasnt all that different from mma boxing.
they had to rely on faints, setting traps, head movement, they were even allowed to hold there
opponents arms like mma and extremely important foot work. just like mma does.

and guess what anderson silva does have the same skill set but no where near the level these guy could pull it off

interesting fact boxers in the 1900s till 20s use to wrestle as a part of there workout. the 1910 wrestling champions of the world
trained jim jeffries and he said he would of had a good wrestling career.

i think jones would win. after all sonnen took silva down at will and jones is right up there at the top with his wrestling ability. so i think jones would stay on top and grind out a decision
