im finding that plain ol white rice is the key carb to add to any such dish, cornbread casserole, eggplant parmesean, vegetable lasagna ect

i find that eating plenty of rice keeps the thought away from eating junk like cookies and icecream wich add no real benefit to recouperate glucose stores in muscles

im still drinknig plenty of grape juice and orange juice, beans

its interesting getting stronger after a long layoff though you dont really notice it but you notice it during your workouts

who here likes alot of rice, please share possible vegetarian entre's to eat with your rice.

Most of the time I keep it plain, little Italian seasoning and or some season all, and I usually drink juice with it for the instant sugar.

Sometimes I'll cook up a mix of carrots, celery, little onion, peppers, cherry tomatoes and have that on top.  Sometimes it's veggies ( rinsed,) out of a can if feeling lazy.

What's your fruit intake like?  If you're open to it, try adding banana smoothies, ( or eat'em regular.)  I go through at least two banana smoothies a day, each one is at least 1.5 to 2.0 liters big with a little strawberry and kiwi mixed in.  It's about 30 bananas a day.

you sound like you have a good idea what to eat like i would do. 30 bananas a day is alot but it probably works rather well if you are really in the grove of daily exercise. EXCELLENT post yes onions are something im using more they taste good in everythig.

Mainly im just drinking juices but i need to eat more whole fruit

Find the best thing is those Spanish bodegas. I pick my guy up from the corner every morning and the deli there has the most amazing food! Very carb heavy flavorful and cheap. I usually go with the chicken/white rice/black beans combo. 2 pupusas first thing in the morning with coffee. Just started a cycle few weeks ago and with this food I've exploded and it tastes amazing!   ;)

With white or brown rice you can mix lean ground hamburger or turkey.  Brown and season with salt, pepper, garlic, paprika and worchestorshire sauce. Mix with cooked rice.  Put in face.

This is what I like to hear!  You do need a bit more protein I think.

Here's a what-not-to-eat suggestion, Johnny .....

A big, giant plate of LOCO_MOCO which consists of a big round bowl of cooked white rice (stickie rice is preferred), a giant hamburger patty, two fried eggs, and all completely covered with a rich, brown gravy.

Or maybe even Spam and Eggs with Rice on the side covered in hot and Teriyaki sauce.

Staple diets where EwaBeachBoy and Pellius reside ..... and most likely not yet consumed by Go4It just yet unless he fine dines at Zippy's or better yet ... at Rainbow Drive-In.

I only know rice as either 'white' or 'brown' but I like the sticky kine rice best of all and usually only find Thai restaurants serving it.

Does anyone know the real name of sticky rice so that I can buy a bag or two?

Not Sure

That is your key statement, easiest on your body is carbs, and what better carb than fruit, and if fruit is not available....rice.

Have you tried Quinoa? It's great. Almost like rice, but it is has a better nutrition profile than rice and is a complete protein. Tastes great as a rice substitute.
