Take away the camera, the Speech Therapist`s dramatics and the Husband`s prodding and I am willing to bet nothing would have happened. You see, emotions can easily be forced out of people when the proper setting is created. Take the whole 9/11 tributes for instance. You had people balling their little eyes out for a weekend straight all because it was setup for that very reason. As if 10 trips around the sun has any more special meaning than 2 or 3 trips. Its all a bunch of hogwash and people will fall for group-think and mass demonstrations and emotional setups every single time. Crying at a movie is no different. Mirror Neurons are always switched on during all of this.
You clearly have no clue what you are talking about. I have a friend who's been deaf since birth as well, she uses hearing aids to get about 5% hearing, she's never heard her own voice, just muffles of sound. She can speak clearly and you can have a full conversation with her 1 on 1. In a group she misses a lot because she can only read one set of lips at a time. Just because this woman used hearing aids doesn't mean she was able to hear at all. We would have to know her specific case and how much the hearing aids helped her hearing, my friend only gets about 5% out of them which is barely enough to alert of her of loud noises such as car horns.
For someone who copies most of his information from the internet I would have thought you would have done some reading on this subject first before making such retarded comment.
