4 years of relevance is very respectable.  Gunter was relevant for six months... one year, tops.  Remember a young, beautiful Roland Cziurlock?  Relevant for all of six months.

Not sure why nobody advised him to do that shot different. His leg is all crooked and wide obliques. Yet he always would end up doing that pose. There had to be a different way for him to do it that would have looked better. Dorian's method was much better on that pose.

i have also wondered that, it seems to happen to a few people they burst on the scence place really well and then nothing. gustavo was the same, all be it he was around a bit longer and won a show or 2 but he was only really relivant for about 4 years or so...

Gunter didn't "burst" on the scene, he competed for almost 10 years in the pros he was just placing poorly in the 90's

Gunter had a wide waist, he looked better back in 97-98, turn him around at his best vs Phil, Gunter's lack of back detail was appalling. He was bigger, but not really better.

Are we talking about professional bodybuilding or everyday life?  I don't think there should be much question as to whether or not Phil's physique surpasses Gunter's in terms of competitive bodybuilding.  He is Mr. Olympia after all and Phil may be shorter but that is not necessarily a bad thing on the pro stage.  Plus Phil is not exactly a midget - I would put him at a true 5'9.  I stood next to him in 2007 and if I was taller than him it was only because of my hair.  He might even be 5'9 and change.  I can see how some people wouldn't want to look like bodybuilders who are very short, but like I said, Phil isn't exactly short.

Yes, Gunter is wide and he's White.    But it's not like that wins bodybuilding shows...for real life it would be cool to look like Gunter but it would probably require a bigger caloric intake due to his weight.  Also, is Phil a Mulatto?  He looks rather light.  In any event he doesn't exactly look like SEAL.  Maybe I'm biased but I don't think being 5'9 is the shortcoming everyone is making it out to be [no pun intended].  Overall both Phil and Gunter seem comfortable with the size they carry [or carried].  Contrast that with some bodybuilders who can't walk from one side of the gym to the other without being short of breath.

No matter how you cut it both are freaks and both have done very well in the world of bodybuilding past and present.

gunter may look better in street clothes (except for that pic of phil at the O this year, FUCKING AMAZING) but as far as bbing is concerned phil shits all over gunter. the only thing everyone seems to think is that phil lacks width (he may not be the widdest but still isnt narrow). and phil is MR O and will be for the next couple of years thats unless jay brings something like 2009 to this years MR O
