It can still be said that because a person on earth was dead for 40 min then his heart started beating again, that it is sometimes (but rarely) permissible under the laws for nature for that event to occur. So still no suspension of natural laws and still no miracle.

JOHANNESBURG -- A South African man awoke to find himself in a morgue fridge – nearly a day after his family thought he had died, a health official said Monday.

Health department spokesman Sizwe Kupelo said the man awoke Sunday afternoon, 21 hours after his family called in an undertaker who sent him to the morgue after an asthma attack.

Morgue owner Ayanda Maqolo said he sent his driver to collect the body shortly after the family reported the death. Maqolo said he thought the man was around 80 years old.

"When he got there, the driver examined the body, checked his pulse, looked for a heartbeat, but there was nothing," Maqolo told the Associated Press.

But a day after staff put the body into a locked refrigerated compartment, morgue workers heard someone shouting for help. They thought it was a ghost, the morgue owner said.

"I couldn't believe it!" Maqolo said. "I was also scared. But they are my employees and I had to show them I wasn't scared, so I called the police."

After police arrived, the group entered the morgue together.

"I was glad they had their firearms, in case something wanted to fight with us," Maqolo said.

He said the man was pale when they pulled him out.


"He asked, 'How did I get here?'" Maqolo said.

The health department said the man was then taken to a nearby hospital for observation and later discharged by doctors who deemed him stable.

Kupelo, the health department spokesman, urged South Africans to call on health officials to confirm that their relatives are really dead.

The man's family was informed that he was alive during a family meeting convened to make funeral arrangements. They're very happy to have him home, Maqolo said.

But Maqolo said he is still trying to recover from the traumatic experience.

"I couldn't sleep last night, I had nightmares," he said. "But today I'm much better."

Coach, Let's say a muslim watched this video and said that Allah was watching and saw that this man was dying without ever hearing about Allah and brought him back to life to give him a 2nd chance to accept Allah. But instead when he came back to life, he accepted Jesus, and Allah is very disappointed.

Also, you cannot forget the VERY big can of worms if you say that God took this man out of hell, that would beg the question "why doesnt he take everyone out of hell?" Lots of children in hell because they didn't accept Jesus.

You can't prove a negative.  It's a debate fail.   i can't prove Rick Perry has stopped beating his wife.  See what I mean?

Maybe it was faith.  Maybe it's a false story.  Maybe it's something else. 

The man had no oxygen to brain for 40 minuntes - Is that possible?  I'd love to see the evidence.  I'd like to see the machine recordings showing zero breathing for 40 minutes.  Not a link from "godvine.com".  Nothing against the site, but isn't not exactly drudge or fox.  This should be WORLD BREAKING NEWS.  40 minutes without oxygen completely reverses the medical community - toss it out the window.

Show us the evidence.  Not "the words of the faithful saved" on a religious site.

Which, of course, isn't sufficient to proclaim that a "miracle" has occurred. For millenia humans couldn't explain why lightning would streak across the sky; why rain fell from the sky; why solar and lunar eclipses happened. None of those things were miracles, despite inability of our ancestors to explain them.

You ask people to prove that it's not a miracle and that faith wasn't involved. Forgetting, for a moment, that you're the one making the extraordinary claim that a miracle occurred, and that therefore, you are the one who has the burden of proof, let me ask you this: what, exactly, would qualify as evidence in your opinion? In other words, what would prove to you that what happened, didn't involve anything supernatural?
